I need Base Set Blastoise cards in my life - 5/12 UPDATE!!!

You may flush one out if you state your offer for each of the two cards.

I’d pay the regular going rate of a normal 1st edition Blastoise for the grey stamp error. As for the unlimited Korean it would depend on the condition. I really don’t know.

and wow, beckett acknowledged the square cut and the stage error. That’s insane. Are you looking to sell it or are you just showing off?

Just showing it off;)
Very tough grading with 3x8.5s and a 9.5. Just look at those razor sharp corners.
At least there were no 8 subgrades:)

truly remarkable Gary! Maybe one day I’ll have enough courage (and money) to make a respectable offer for it.

I’m down to my last official print to complete my collection. Unlimited Korean. This is going to be a bitch to get. If you guys know anyone that owns it, please send them my way! It would mean the world to me.

Anyway, after I send off my French, German, and Dutch unlimited prints as well as my Japanese No rarities and UK 4th Prints I will have every copy of the Base Set Blastoise graded by PSA. My adventure is coming to an end.

Now if someone could please direct me to a Korean Unlimited print…

I’m not sure if it holds true for the Holo cards, but Spanish had a 1999 and a 1999-2000 print for the Pikachu at least (something along the lines of the North American Spanish and the European Spanish releases, similar to the UK 4th print)

Just mentioning that in case you aren’t aware of it (and sorry I can’t verify if there was the second print for holos, haven’t looked as I was just after Pikachu).

Spanish 1999-2000 is only non holo cards, as for Korean unlimited not zelda and jamesskray are only ones I know who have the buggers

Yeah but sorry. There’s some untouchable cards in my collection and so much so, I don’t even store them in Nevada as some here already know.

Which are rarer between the Spanish editions?

I’m not entirely sure - When I was informed there was a 99-00 print I had 1st Edition and Unlimited prints of the 99 already (and had obtained them without much trouble), but that could just be because I was buying from a certain region on eBay. I haven’t really ran into anything that indicates population. Within three days of finding out there was a 99-00 print, I had them (1/U) on order.

Blastoise is tough as it has to come from a booster, rather than Ninetales, Gyarados etc. from the decks - and as you saw 3 packs sold for around $1000AUD recently.

@garyis2000 did you have any inkling that the Korean unlimited would be so scarce/sought after around the time?

My guess is he just stored the shit and forgot about it until people started asking for them.

Close but I actually worked hard to complete my little side collections back then. It was all done out of the love of collecting. Snaps right though with many of the items that shot up…I wasn’t expecting it.

All very interesting. thanks for the replies guys

Small bump. Has anyone noticed the rise in price of 1st edition base set cards? PSA 9 1st edition Blastoise regularly went for 200-230 now they can easily fetch $300+.

small bump. my sights are still on the 1st edition grey stamp error and unlimited korean. I’ll more than likely be bumping this thread just once a month.

I do have extra graded blastoise cards i’m willing to sell. Korean 1st, Spanish 1st and a few more.

Which grey stamps are you looking for?

Gyarados :stuck_out_tongue: (FOR ME!)
