How to tell pokemon base set cards to be real or fake?

I recently bought a lot of common cards from base set. i was looking through the card when i noticed the yellow border is much lighter than other base set cards i got. then i try to shine a light to the card and it was clearly see through. now im not sure if they are real or fake.

I can’t imagine anybody faking cheap penny cards.

There are many variances in base printing. I took a look at sizzlinshibe’s photos and the cards appear legitimate to me. I’ve recently been sorting through my base cards looking for some variants and have found cards that have different finishes to them, different sheen, different card stock and of course large varieties of color inconsistencies. I was actually going to dissect a few of the cards with varying card stocks to see what the middle layers look like. I’ll now do some light tests as well to see if they are at all transparent.

All that being said, I doubt the cards you have there are fake.
