Don’t think this has been discussed in a while, how often do you look at your collection?
I know my answer is “not enough”. I get into those mental ruts of wanting more without appreciating what I already have.

A few times a year.
Not enough. One of the things I look at the most is my 151 binder. But my graded cards are neglected.
Like never…
When i add new binder cards i glance
Every day. I have pictures of every single card on my phone so i can just check them out whenever without getting fingerprints on my stuff. Last i checked its something like 500 plus pictures i really love em
Not enough. Ironically I look at other people’s collection more than mine. It’s just hard these days to get time to sit down and go through the binders
I have really enjoyed my binders, especially in the past few months. I have not made any Pokemon purchases this year and I go through my binders every week just to ‘double check’ which cards I am missing, so I can start buying again, just to repeat the process all over again.
The only downside I feel is that I am getting a bit too handsy with my cards. I have rearranged my binders a few times, or I just randomly remove the cards out of my binders to get a closer look. I try to be as careful as possible but I would ideally not want to keep doing it.
This year really has been just feeling good about the cards and collection that I already have and just being content in turning the binder pages. I have also introduced my 3 year old to the binders and he can now identify all Pichu and Pikachu cards that are in them.
Cheers!
I’ve been looking over it more and more recently (past year). Trying to be more grateful and appreciative on what I DO have instead of what I don’t. Also trying to think about the stories behind the cards, where I got them like the sketchy flea markets or cool LGS’s I just happen to be traveling around.
I’ll look at some part of it at least a couple of times a week. It’ll either be a flick through the binders, a rummage through the light weight slabs, or occasionally I’ll take out the heavier hitters & pop them on a shelf to glance at throughout the day.
What’s the point in having a collection if you can’t do a Gollum impression with the prescious cardboard once in a while, right?
Few times a year. For me it’s more fun showing them off to people, but… that never happens. Unless you include this place. I haven’t bought any cards in awhile as well, being that there’s only like 4 cards that I want & they’re all too expensive for me, so…
It’s tempting to sell most of them & keep like my top 5 cards, problem is I collect with a different vision, so half the cards are pretty cheap, not worth the money vs the effort & time it took to get them. So they’re in my closet, in a waterproof black padded kinda case.
I look at it partially about once per month. If I’m adding something new to the binder, I generally look though the rest of that binder at the same time.
Looking though my whole collection in one sitting is pretty rare. Maybe once per year or less.
Often I’ll see someone ask a question on E4 or another forum and if I know I have the card they are asking about, that will spur me on to open that binder. So it becomes a resource to answer peoples questions on occasion.
I will open up a binder every couple days. My son has been asking more and more about older sets.
I have been steadily cracking or selling my graded cards but I try to look at my keepers once a month or so.
It comes and goes in waves. This year, I’ve barely looked at my collection. Last year, I was going through it almost every week. Totally depends on whether I’m in an expansion phase or not.
I feel like a nerd but probably once or twice a week. It’s kind of therapeutic for me
Same here🤓 I look at my cards a few times per week. What’s the point of collecting if you’re not going to enjoy them?
I’ve been traveling recently and haven’t purchased anything for my collection in around 40-50 days, I guess. My slabs are displayed in the gym so I get the chance to look at them daily. I probably enjoy flipping through my binders more but view them less, weirdly.
I rarely look through my entire collection at once. But I look at portions of my collection every day or every few days.
I have my favourites on a shelf, so I see part of my collection every day, it makes me feel happy
Also when my gentile friends come over they’ll usually ask “what’s that?” and then I’ll read them a chapter from the base set bible. 151 being the mew testament
Usually once a week or so ill flip through one of my binders, or look at my slabs, or man-handle some of my sealed stuff. Sometimes more, sometimes less. My favourite thing is sharing my collection with other people
When I had fewer cards I did, but then I bought a lot and now I don’t lol.
Makes me wonder why I have them at all.
Especially when I have made a ‘digital’ collection on Google Sheets that I do look at to update with every new set. Costs nothing, no risk of damaging the cards lol. Obviously it can’t replicate the physical card’s texture and holofoil but a lot easier to maintain.
