How often do you look at your collection?

Very rarely. I remember most of my ‘core’ and most valuable cards, but on the odd occasion I do go for a look through of my cards it is nice to be surprised sometimes to remember that I own a certain card.

At least two times per week, nowadays mostly browsing through binder sets but graded/sealed collection get their fair share too.

Most of my collection I don’t really look at since it’s in binders/needs to be opened but I do look at my display cases pretty often. Especially my slab display case. I ogle at my slabs most mornings when I open the window for my birds. It’s a lot easier to enjoy them when you’re #wallgang

This actually came in a perfect time. dusted off the dust from the plastic sleeves for my corocoro collection to go over and learn more on all. more details in a new topic.

I’ll usually check my display collection once a month or two. I have it covered the majority of the time to protect from sunlight.

For my cards, probably once every 3 or 4 months now or when I need to update my binder.

The plastic case kills the nostalgia. Plastic is good for investments, IMO, but there is nothing better than seeing them in the same way as when we were young.

On that note, I probably look at my OG 151 binder once a quarter

I look at my collection quite often as its smallish in size, but took a lot of effort and time to acquire. I still love looking at all my cards and it never gets old to me.

I was recently thinking that In the future, I will probably keep them separate from me. Once my collection reached a certain value, I started to feel uneasy about having most of my collection with me. Still undecided on my decision.

The struggle is real my friend. There’s nothing better than binder collecting but I have a real problem with pulling them out.

Unfortunately for me, when I’m stressed, tired, or intoxicated is when I’m most compelled to open the binders.

I like to flip through my Piplup Tome™ at least once a week, sometimes more than that. I’ll go through and reorganize whenever I get more than 12 cards in the back of the binder (where I store new acquisitions until I have time to rearrange everything).

I look at my spreadsheet at least once a day, and I’d go through my binder more often if I had the time. What’s the point of having cards if you don’t enjoy them, yknow?

I will say that since grading companies have added scans, I do look at my newly graded cards more often than I would have if I didn’t have scans. I’ve really enjoyed that part of collecting in the past few years since its implementation. Manually scanning all of my graded cards is an ongoing chore.

That’s the best part of it for me. This is probably odd but every card I purchase I hand write why I chose to buy it, where I purchased it from, and the overall story behind it. That note goes into the collection the same as the card.

I’ve only been doing this for a couple of years but in many cases I find reading the note is as (or more) enjoyable than looking at the card.

It’s odd how much you can forget in a couple years. I can only assume that decades down the road it will be fun to look back on.

I feel compelled to look at specific cards at different times. If I had to guess I probably cycle through my entire collection once per quarter,

Rinse and repeat

A few times a week. Since I make YouTube videos I’m required to dig through my collection for specific cards. I really appreciate every card when I can!

I was thinking about this earlier this summer. The collector wants to collect, but does not always appreciate what he has. I’m trying to do a lot more of the latter. I probly pull out a binder to look about once a week.

I think I look most often at my MtG Lands collection. There are hundreds of hours in that collection, sourcing a dozen cards to get 1 good copy, curating what’s IN the binder… There’s major sentiment in it, even though those cards are worth pennies. I could not replace it but for hundreds more hours of work and a lot of luck.

I have my main collection is mostly displayed where i see it daily, I love seeing it. The full collection doesnt fit so i dont see it all laid out more than once a year. My side collections i look through a couple times a year and add missing cards or reorganize things.

This is a great question!

For me the answer varies. I have tons of plush displays set up as well as a very personal special display that I keep locked up and those I view daily, but anything else typically is neglected since it takes a lot to kind of get everything out in the open. That I guess is the burden of owning so much which is unfortunate, but one day I hope to have a place big enough to where I can have everything on display at once.

I spend a lot of time thinking about my collection, but rarely actually looking at it, at least in it’s entirety. I really should look at it more often, but I was hoping to save that for when I fill out all the gaps in my binders (which are still many). I really should view it more often though, I know for a fact I’ve purchased duplicate copies of certain cards at times since I forgot I had the card(s) already (usually the cheaper ones).

The binders aside, I’ll usually display a few cards on my work desk and switch them up every once in a while too. I usually do this with the newest slabs I acquire.

Not enough of my binder collection at home, but oddly enough I do look at the cards in my fanatics/pwcc vault like once a week when scrolling through the weekly auctions

A lot man. You have to appreciate what you have, while you have it.
