The Houston Collect-a-Con is fast approaching. Will any E4 members be going? This is my first time and I’m planning on meeting King Pokemon (Gary) since we’re of the same vintage. Also wanting to meet other Pokemon YouTube creators.

I went to the one in Georgia twice now, and met only one member so far @cyberurchin
I wont be going to that one, but bring a budget (a hefty one at that in todays time lol) and share your experience too here. I hope you have fun!

Curious to hear how it is - I have other plans but never sure what to expect from shows these days
Well…alot of items are over current market price on the sticker, but there are alot of good looking cheaper cards if youre a binder collector looking for some cards that arent top dollar. Here is a picture of some of the prices when we went if you want to compare. (Keep in mind this was like a month ago, and yes this is my photo I took. Mainly because I was in shock and also poor I suppose haha)
There are some booths though that have better deals, but overall I had fun. Met eevees english VA (again) lol. Saw Jason Paige (yeah i know…) sing the pokemon theme song live 
, and overall just enjoyed being in the company of my wife as we looked for her another anime figurine she collects every time we go to a different con.
Overall I would recommend it if youre looking for high end, or low end cards, but ultra modern is at every booth, so make sure to look around before buying at the first booth (if you dare 
)

I am very tempted to go…in Houston for school now but I don’t know ANY of the pokemon community here

I just moved to Houston for school and I had a great local community in my prior city…
Not much point for me to go to CAC unless I’m going to hang out with people since very little on my prioritized wantlist is in English 
I feel like I just don’t have the time. Spouse and I both work full time, kid, etc

Yeah I went to the one in the Spring, it was cool. Not sure I’ll go to this one.
I was active with the community here in Houston from 2012-16, moved away for work, then moved back in 2020 just before covid and have never really reconnected. There are a few LGS ive dropped in for league night didnt recognize anyone. It was fun but yeah, life.

I’ll be in Houston this weekend 17-20 for a different event, if there are any cool lgs’s nearby or places I should check out I’d love recommendations.
I will most likely be at San Antonio Cac if anyone wants to meet up
