History of the Thai Medallion Battle Eeevee (124/SM-P)

Hello everyone!

For anyone who doesn’t know me, I am mainly a Reshiram Collector. However, over the past half a year or so I have become quite interested in the Thai market and some of the unique promos they have.

It was first brought to my attention by @chefonaquest that a rare Eevee promo that was not formally distributed existed! And since then, I have become quite interested in the card and I do own a copy myself currently.

For a brief former history of the card and the timeline to its discovery I’d suggest reading Chef’s notes: Chef’s Eevee Collection - All Indonesian Eevees Obtained! - Collecting - Elite Fourum

What’s Changed?

Since previous articles have been released about this card, I’ve begun to learn a lot more about its history.

Distribution during the Sun and Moon Period started with the company TRUE but got passed down through a few companies until the current company. Distribution of these promos could’ve happened at any point or during a transition period when resources were handed over. It is hard to pinpoint where exactly they got shared around.

Across my time spent in the Thai Community helping to source cards and collecting some myself, I’ve discovered that the original theorized amount of approximately 8-10 cards was an underestimation.

There are now 4 cards graded at PSA, and I have personally discovered more copies that would put it over the original estimate of 10 cards. It is hard to now estimate how many cards are truly out there compared to Indonesia’s speculated (50 copies) and China’s (200 copies). If I had to put a guess out there, I’d probably putting the guess closer to 20 copies, using current PSA data from all languages and copies currently for sale in the Thai market.

However, it could very well mean there are more copies out there and we might never know the true number.

I hope everyone learnt something new and takes an appreciation to niche promos like these and the Thai Market in general.

Happy to answer questions some people may have; however, some people who have provided information to help write this article have requested to stay anonymous.

Yeah, I know I more meant it as, I’ve accounted for x amount of cards and the PSA ones being included in that total

Ooh? You know people who own it :eyes: how many? I’m so intrigued with what the true number of them that are out there is
