How long till the price drops on this product? Any guesses?
I believe a reprint of Mew & Mewtwo pin collections was announced for January, I would say that would be the start.
It has been dropping and will continue to do so. Near bottom will be post-xmas and it will not go up in price for a long time.

Is scarcity still a problem for the majority? I live in a poor, rural community and have been able to find the product easily.
Depends on the location within the US. Anywhere near a major city I would lean towards yes. If you live in South Dakota then no.

As a modern product collector im still holding onto my position of waiting. Prices are around U$S6 per pack (Dropped from 10) and most of the singles prices crashed ; you can get a raw copy of the zard for 250/325U$S.
So; wait a little bit more 
I think it will continue to drop as most all modern sets do especially when focus turns to CE as it is now but years down the road I think it will be highly sought after set. Shiny Pokemon usually are in high demand so the 10-15 year old kids that couldn’t get these cards now might want them later in life when they can afford them. That’s kinda how collectibles that are geared towards kids work as long as something is there to bring them back to that nostalgia.

I’ve seen a high demand for PSA 10 copies of shiny vault and even the holos from Hidden Fates,
Sold through 70% of cards within a couple of days with no price discount etc…
A lot of interest still in this set, a lot of hype, but genuine interest too which is good to see
Imagine prices/ activity will die down considerably after xmas though!

As he mentions, there’s a ton of Genuine interest in this set and plenty of people i know, including myself, going for a complete Shiny Vault set (PSA10)

Yeah I agree and it’s nice to see some real genuine interest for collecting a complete modern set in PSA 10. I’m actually going for one myself since I actually love the cards and think they could have some value 10+ years down the road. They really brought me back into collecting too since I opened my first pack and had a full art shiny Articuno in it! I got hooked again haha.
The shiny vault set is large and will prove to be a challenge to find all of them and get PSA 10 even if they tend to grade better than average sets. Of all the modern I’ve seen, this set has a decent shot at being the most relevant down the line.
I agree about the value, due to the fact that i see many many people buying hidden fates even after a couple years, set has one of the biggest amount of chase cards we’ve ever seen, plus they are gorgeous!
