Hey
Recently got this one back from CGC:
- Base Set Unlimited Gyarados CGC 7.5 ( misaligned print error )
Not sure if there value and if there’s anything added because of the note.
Tough to find anything similar on ebay.
Thanks

Do you have an image?
Its currently on its way back to me
Isn’t there scans on CGC website? Not sure how CGC exactly works but all the CGC cards I owned (not much) had scans when I checked the certificate number
Yes CGC does have that available. I subbed with a friend and do not have his log in info to grab the scan at the moment
You don’t need to log in, as long as you know the certificate number you can check it
Checked my screen shots, dont have the certs available at the moment
@franmotard - not sure how to get the pictures up, but here is the cert - 4091732001
It looks like it could be the magenta layer that’s slightly off. I can’t imagine a premium being generally high for this type of error, but it being gyarados and recognized on the label certainly helps! It just a matter of finding that one gyarados collector who also loves errors
I agree with pfm. This error is interesting but not extraordinary. The 7.5 grade is a better determinant of its overall value than this slight error.
I would list it for $100 (~2x its current value) and see who bites. It might sit for a while, but you’re more likely to sell it if you showcase the misalignment of the magenta layer. My best guess is that someone would pay ~$75.
Awesome, thanks for the input all!
I seem to see these CGC errors everywhere on IG. do you have to tell them what the error is? I find it hard to believe that all of the sudden as soon as CGC opens there are tons of new errors where for the 20+ years before them we basically saw 0 of these things. I know psa does not recognize these but does anyone know why they dont? I imagine there is a reason
It’s just a different philosophy/approach between the two companies. Even well-recognized errors like no damage Ninetales have been something PSA was not interested in acknowledging. PSA generally keeps to documented, intentional variants only. Whereas CGC is much more open to recognizing any variation possible
Ive probably been brainwashed by psa. I dont really use them much anymore but they really did set the standards in this hobby
