Fungus and Mold is very common in vintage camera lenses, which is something I deal with. A cheap way to kill it is to just expose it with regular sunlight. A day or two is all it needs.

This is nothing compared to the stuff I’ve seen in Lenses I’ve purchased from Tropical areas of the Planet.

Thanks! I’ll do that. It’ll be locked in a dry cabinet dipped in silica gel at night and exposed to sunlight during sunny days. Think I’ll take my collection to layout in the sun occasionally too, how often do you do that or do u just keep ur lenses in a dry cabinet?

Have a headache from all the alcohol i’ve inhaled while cleaning my collection as a precautionary measure…

Interesting that you brought up lenses. I took another look at the mold and realized that it seems to be spreading on the plastic case, rather than the paper card. Always thought it was spreading on the card and communicated to all the interested buyers as such (don’t regret it tho, better to err on the safe side). The middle part of the mold probably touches the card, but seems like the mold expanded thinly on the plastic. So it may not be as bad as people imagined (but who knows really…)

Super close up pic of the mold:

Time to play the lottery

Shit OP, do I understand correctly that you are located in Singapore? If so, so am I… and I’ve always stored my PSA graded cards in LIONgoods storage boxes, just on a shelf in a cupboard…best I have is a little cheap charcoal “dehumidifier” box in the corner. I checked it this morning and that damn thing is full of extracted moisture :scream: Sounds like you’ve had a real nightmare dealing with this, and I feel terrible for you. Hope you get some resolution to it. May also tighten up my storage situation…
