Sorry for a non-tcg post, but the recent purchases thread inspired me.
I have a pokewalker from the heart gold game that unfortunately went through the washing machine. Is it dead forever, or can it be repaired somehow? This happened quite a few years ago…
If it was quite a few years ago, I’d say chances are slim. Normally you’d put it in a bowl of rice or something that will absorb the moisture. But it’s been so long, that I’m not sure. Hopefully you didn’t try to use it, since it most likely would’ve short circuited then.
Ah thank you, probably no fixing it then. Might pick one up on ebay
The board may be able to be cleaned by a professional and some components such as the screen can probably be replaced.
If I were in the situation I might research soldering and cleaning water damaged electronics to give it a shot myself
Was digging through search and came upon this thread and wanted to see if I could help:

You can buy a WiiU fit meter for cheap and try to swap out the screen for it. However, the board might be dead. This was the case with my own Pokewalker and I had to buy a new one. Another tip is that you can buy a Japanese Pokewalker. They work with English games and after uploading a Pokemon from the English game, the Pokewalker will be in English.
