Edit: My own epic fail. thought the thread was literally about the greatest sporting event moments…but seriously, who’s gonna top this guy?

In my lifetime it has to be a toss up between Leicester City winning the premier league in the '15-'16 season or Liverpool beating AC Milan in the 2005 champions league final by the way guys football (soccer) > every US sport. Just sayin…
Soccer? Is that the game our girls play?
Liverpool vs AC Milan was something truly magical, wish I could’ve been there.
It’s the game grown sooky boys play who cry if someone touches them. Lol
It’s also the most played and viewed sport in the world.

Agree 100% with the Leicester remark. Greatest thing that could have happened to the EPL. My main gripe with international football is that the rich clubs are always the winners. It’s the norm in every league. Leicester went and turned that idea on it’s head.

And would probably have a lot more followers of every single player would stop diving.
There is no doubt the game is exceptionally technical and requires immense skill.
I just really struggle to watch grown men collapse to the ground if someone gets within 2cm of them. It’s lame and destroys the whole sport imo.
I can’t think of any moments in sport that resonate with me though. Going to have to think hard.
or arsenal final game at highbury herny hattrick just had to be the king that was pretty magical
Oh yea arsenal going a whole season without losing was pretty big too!
When Chris Benoit won the World Heavyweight Title at Wrestlemania 20 in a Triple Threat Match against Triple H and Shawn Michaels.
When Daniel Bryan beat Triple H at the begging of Wrestlemania 30, and then at the end of the event beat Randy Orton and Batista in a Triple Threat Match to win the WWE Title.
The greatest for me was a baseball game at Turner Field.
Andruw Jones had just left the Braves, a team loyal to him, in a dirty money grab by the Dodgers. Everyone was pretty bitter and it was the first game since he had gone to the Dodgers that they were playing against the Braves at Turner Field. Jones struck out ever at bat and Chipper Jones (See: Braves Jesus) hit three home runs that game.
I will never forget being there. It was crazy.

Haven’t watched wrestling since like 07 but when Eddie Guerrero won the belt that was brilliant
The only sport I’m really into is Football - and being from Mass. my favorite team is of course the Patriots. Thus, the greatest moment in sports history was the New England Patriots vs. Seattle Sea Hawks in Super Bowl XLIX (49)!

The Malcolm Butler interception is easily one of the best plays for sure. Looking forward to next season
OT: I can’t really comment on events from before the 2000s as I didn’t watch sports before then (or wasn’t born yet for some lol), but the last couple of years, and especially this year, have provided some epic moments and stories:
2015- Malcolm Butler interception in Super Bowl 49 to seal the win for the Patriots
2016- Leicester City winning the EPL
2016- NCAA Basketball Championship (crazy finish!)
2016- Cleveland Cavaliers coming back from 3-1 to win Cleveland’s first pro sport championship in decades
2016- Portugal beating the hosts France, without Ronaldo, winning their first Euro championship
