Grading question

Hey guys!

First time poster, sorry if I format incorrectly.

I picked these two bad boys up for $60/ piece, sent the Venusaur off to get graded (would love input on what you guys think it’ll be), but the Blastoise is the one I’m not sure if it’s worth grading, reselling or keeping in my binder for fun. It look Mint with a big but, the guy I bought it from thinks he closed the binder ring on it and it punctured part of the holo, as seen Here: imgur.com/a/K5yom

Also got these two guys for $300. Sending in the Shining Charizard to grade, he’s just so damn minty

Did you pay $60 10 years ago or did some poor fella not know any thing about pokemon cards.

if they are both real 1st edition cards I’d slab them just for the sake of it

I put a CL ad up looking for 1st eds in San Diego (by accident, I’m in Reno NV) and guy sent me these two about a month ago. Figured he’d ask like $600 minimum, ended up wanting $120 for the both. They passed the light test and appeared real feel and look wise. I think the guy just had no idea.

I like having a binder collection, thinking it’s a good candidate for keeping in there since it probably doesn’t hold much value with the puncture. Any suggestions on what I could resell ungraded for? Have someone offering $100, but not too eager to sell.

Sure, send the Venu in to PSA. It’s under 30-40 bucks.

I sent it and 14 others in about a month ago, still waiting to hear back. What’s your thoughts on grading the Blastoise? Havent seen many with puncutres like that graded and not sure what I would expect grade wise. Thanks for your input!

I’m in socal and in the rare case I get a message about 1st editions they want PSA 10 prices lol mostly just get hit up by parents who try to sell their kids cards that look like they went through the washing machine.

Need to update my CL ad to Include San Diego…

yeah I definitely lucked out on that find. After that I threw them up in a few other locations, but still mostly been all like you said or people trying to insist their 1st ed Machamp is worth buku. I only started collecting in late Sept, couldn’t afford it growing up so it’s a fun nostalgic throw back fosho. I also found these guys on FB marketplace in Alaska of all places: imgur.com/a/q0kRe - he wanted $180 for the shadowless zard that wasn’t worth that much, but only $120 on the shining charizard, catch was they went together. So I overpaid on the shadowless and got a flawless shining zard for $120 :grin:

Nobody grades cards with holes in them lol, so no way to value it. Just stick it in your binder.
