Mine are based off the experiences. Met a guy who was a league organizer back in the day and bought two first edition holos off of him. We sat around and reminisced on our childhoods for about an hour.
The other one that comes to mind is buying a couple dual lands off a coworker. Magic isn’t really my thing but I know enough about the first couple sets that when a coworker approached me to help him value his collection i couldn’t leave empty handed. watching him dig through all his cardboard deck boxes full of old magic cards was a trip. I almost felt bad for buying something that clearly was a big part of his life, even though he plays it down severely.
