We’re back at it. This time I’m bringing you 12 options! I know this one will be hard and if your favorite isn’t listed, I apologize.

I’ll try to define “grail” for this poll because it’s a term that means something different for each person. My ex grail is SS wailord or the Kyogre promo but I don’t think they’re quite “era defining”

  • a card that represents the era of cards, has high value (does not need to be THE most expensive) and collectability, desired by most collectors even if they’re not a specific species or era collector

Celebi EX or Suicune EX for me. Two of the best EX cards ever released.

This isn’t really my era of expertise, but the Celebi ex is everything I could ask for in an ex card and I think it showcases how cool these cards can be.

I think the celebi has overtaken milotic recently as the mainstream ex grail to most. I was curious if e4 thinks differently

Great choices for top ex cards, though I would’ve added Espeon ex from Unseen Forces. Another very popular and iconic card that is still highly sought after. Unseen Forces may have some spotty history with its Gold Stars, but imo has the best lineup of ex cards in the era (TRR could also be argued).

Yeah, I just figured if someone was going to use their one vote for best ex card and had to choose between espeon and Umbreon they would choose Umbreon always. Same with lugia ho oh

Celebi probably has this one; it’s a beautiful card that ticks most boxes, even if it’s not the first card that pops to mind when I think ‘Ex era’.

It’s interesting that Deoxys, Milotic & Rayquaza are the only actual Gen 3 Pokémon in a discussion for the top card of Gen 3.

I’d like to see a follow-up poll pitting the winner of this poll against the top Gold Star, so we can find out the ultimate representative of the era.

For some reason the Unseen Forces Celebi EX is being hyped as the ‘best’ chase EX-era card right now - or, at least that’s what i’ve seen around the forum.

I can do something like that. When I eventually do gold stars I was planning on doing the 2nd best gold star. I didn’t think there was anyone who would argue against Rayquaza being the most iconic, cool looking, expensive, and desirable

It’s that way on ig generally too. Tbh it’s what I think will win. But crazy to see how times change because it wasn’t always that way.

Milotic ex for me. My favorite Gen 3 Pokémon and the card art is just superb.
