GameStop offering PSA middleman services

Not a US citizen myself but thought this was cool to see. Seems reasonably priced also and thought it was neat that you can sell the graded cards directly with them when they return.

Think we’ll see this from more high street retailers?

Any extra steps between your cards leaving you and returning to you is an increase to risk.

Dropping off your cards at a huge company like GameStop, where employees aren’t card enthusiasts is a red flag to avoid.

I see this as an ideal way for the general novice collector to get a few of their favourite cards graded. Anything above that level I wouldn’t recommend anyone to use this service.

Seems like a great way to put a ton of junk slabs into the market

I was surprised that you can actually buy some decent PSA 9 cards for like $11 each on their website. Curious if they’ll go even lower.

I already have trust issues with GameStop. I don’t need another reason to be wary of them.

It’s great for the hobby, but as we learned from controversy of submitting to Ludkins, it’s much easier to do it yourself. If you can respond to threads here, you’re smart enough to submit to PSA by yourself.

Trusting GS to do anything correctly is a long shot. Saw them rubber band Leonharts submission, so we know they are taking care of your cards!
