I wanted to highlight artists in the TCG who we haven’t seen cards from in at least a generation.
Here’s two of mine:
Sachiko Adachi
Kanako Eo
I would love to see these two work on more cards in the current era, where they could get IR or SIR cards.

Not a full generation yet but i want to highlight Hataya who had their previous card in Crown Zenith
Nakamura & Fukuyama both have already been named so I’d like to add:
Kimiya Masago:
And although his last card was illustrated in 2018: Hajime Kusajima
This is the answer. I can’t get enough of Fukuyama artwork.
How many artists are now retired or dead though as opposed to stopped being commissioned for artistic reasons?
We need a ‘players choice’ set where we pick a few of these lost artists to come back and illustrate the cards.
100%!
I doubt he’ll ever come back, sadge.

Ryo Ueda is my favorite artist and probably is the main person when it comes to 3D illustrations. I certainly think they took over that mantle after the passing of Keiji Kinebuchi. These are just some of the promo cards listed but his main impact has been the 3D illustrations during the ex era. They are super underrated due to being a bit of polarizing figure with regards to their artworks.
Cheers!
That has to be one of my favorite umbreon arts their style is so unique!
Love Hajime Kusajima ![]()

Ueda’s mew ex is peak!
So many great artists have been mentioned so far (especially Hajime Kusajima)!
I’d love to see some modern artwork from Noriko Hotta, whose last illustration was in 2012 (though they were more prolific during the HGSS era). My favorite is their Raikou!
