Sumiyoshi Kizuki, now I know what you’re thinking…she just illustrated a few cards - and has illustrated a around 50 cards in the past ten years.
But I miss her initial style of art. It was unique, it stood out, and was often playful. These days her art blends in with the rest of my bulk cards…almost as if she isn’t illustrating anymore.

I wholeheartedly agree, Kizuki’s new art style is a departure from what came before. Their Diglett from the Rocket set is one of the first Pokemon cards I remember seeing.

So much this. @biirdbots and I are huge Kizuki fans and we both miss her classic style so much. Is like both her old lineless style and the fuzzy crayon line art style too. It’s a bummer she has switched up in the past decade. Still unsure as to why, because much of her original non Pokemon art is still in her more classic stylistic look. Perhaps TPC told her to change it? Still a mystery to me

Her past style had character, her recent stuff is anonymous. I’d say worse than most of the artists because there is no distinctive style to latch on to. The Sigilyph and Stunfisk are especially bad.

I’ve been collecting her art for a while, and honestly have been struggling to get myself to buy her newer cards. I’ve told quite a few friends about the shift and they’re all stunned it’s the same artist.
She still releases other Pokémon product in her usual style though. Just last month this was released:
