We all know Arita and Sugimori, Nishida and Himeno; there are certain artists that will always be mentioned first when discussing cards.
But I want to know which artists have the least cards under their belt, and which of those are your favourite?

Most art academy cards and illistration contest only have one right? If so I like space pika the one by Mame Akimaru as it looks pretty nice, and it has a fun little story
Yes… but the whole point is to see people’s favourites of these artists. If I wanted to look at them by myself I would have used google
It sounded like it was half your point, thus me bothering to post a useful way of looking up the most infrequent illustrators while compiling a few of my own. Anyway, here they are, two 3-card illustrators.
Taku Anekawa is an illustrator that works independently … He only made 2 Pokémon illustrations for TCG for e-Minimum Pack during e-Card era: Chikorita 003/018 and Slowpoke 014/018
Honestly I wish he made more artworks for Pokémon … In fact, these are the only works for Pokémon made by him …
Btw, unrelated, for some reason the Chikorita reminds me a lot to Ancient Mew … bonus points for that …
One of my favourite artists in general, Fuzichoco. Has only illustrated 3 pokemon cards allegedly.
She’s illustrated a lot of cards for vanguard, which I think better matches her style.
I love imakuni?
Just random stuff half the time, but then his serious stuff is actually pretty good. Like a cross between Kusube and TOKIYA.
Many of the new artists have few arts, but it seems that is changing… So much more to come!
*It’s also funny how you can’t technically say you like “imakuni?” without being at least a little unsure. Like he’s not even sure if that’s his name. Unless this Imakuni is not THE Imakuni??
These three had a really cool style. A shame he never did more. I didn’t realize.
I personally love these, but would hate to include just 2 or 3 cards or even just 5 or 6 from a single artist because it’s not enough to fill a page in the binder. feels like a one off… But they’re so Cool!
one that i’m particularly sad about is Asuka Iwashita. Most people would probably choose the squirtle as their favorite of these, but i love the espeon so much
I’m still hoping that Hataya gets to illustrate more cards at some point as they currently only have 9 cards from swsh era

Hiroaki Ito(Hiroaki Ito Cards - Serebii.net Trading Card Game Cardex) has only illustrated four cards, including this great Typhlosion artwork from expedition which got a reprint for the Lottery promo sets:
Hiromichi Sugiyama(Hiromichi Sugiyama Cards - Serebii.net Trading Card Game Cardex) meanwhile has 43 cards, including some of my all-time favourite cards such as Rocket’s Tyranitar, the Feraligatr and Blastoise from the triple get campaign, as well as other bangers:
Kimiya Masago is one of my favorites and has only done a handful of cards - these are my favorites ones.
Shinji Higuchi was involved with all 9 LEEGEND cards and directed Scyther and Scizor below. Despite being CGI, most of them look quite nice. Seems he was only commissioned for these cards during HGSS which is a shame.
Love this one from him.
edit: Bahaha! In my mind, something seemed wrong. I didn’t realize that this was a different artist. I thought the Regidrago was also KATO.
