Literally just watch the video I posted and you will learn everything you need to know about the subject.

I’ve watched the video and had 3 takeaways:

  1. Non-holo base set cards are 99.99% thick stamp.
  2. The bottom left corner of the Pokemon portrait should align with the middle of the T in “Edition” more or less.
  3. For thin stamps, the lettering should not be “open”: particular emphasis on the letters “D” and “O”.

The examples in the video were wonderful and I want to thank @smpratte for such a great video to help out our community.

I am still missing how the Alakazam posted above is fake. In my view…
#1 above: Doesn’t apply. They are thin stamps and those are frequently seen in holo cards.
#2 above: Both 1st edition stamps align with the middle of the T in “Edition.”
#3 above: The lettering does not appear to be open on either the “fake” or “real.” In fact, both appear quite closed.

Am I missing something? I felt the examples in the video were great, but I am not seeing that with this individual card…

Thanks

I also have to be honest that I don’t know what I’m looking at in the OP.
