Is there a small chance the seller bought this only to flip it quickly for profit and didn’t realise it was fake?

No not at all, from the pictures on the auction the card had been turned in the holder when I received it. And it was also very clear to see the holo greninja behind it and the fake non holo/fuzzy picture of the Rayquaza

So to me it was clearly a scam.

Well, it really sucks, but honestly I did all I can do right now so there’s no reason to sulk over it. I just hope no one else looses out like this on something big. Just need to be extra careful when dealing with overseas markets.

It was a rare promo. Only eight were made for the event, and it was the only time this particular artwork was printed in Japanese.

PayPal has decided in my favor and will be granting me a full refund when I ship the item back!
