Evolutions box is ~120 while its PSA 10 Charizard is $1500?

Completely agree. Counterpoint: what is the appropriate spread in price for a reprint of a popular, nostalgic card? Case in point: flying pikachu promo WOTC PSA 10 sells for 400-420ish, and the evo “secret rare” sells for 100-140. A reprint with a “secret rare” label attached to it costing 1/4th as much as the original seems fair-ish.

Oh you got me!!! Those are all hovering around $940-$970… not really much of a difference.

Dave and Adam’s has been cleaning house selling boxes for $1,150 (unless they are artificially removing and reposting 1-3 boxes every couple days)…

So I wouldn’t say it’s the dumbest idea.

Im just saying - let’s look at all the data, right. Boxes that are available for 3%-6% less than 1k seems significant when the price immediately before the break was… 3%-6% less than 1k. It just seems too early to get excited about some boxes that are selling for 6% above 1k. It all just seems like not much of a difference, at least to me. You might even argue that this box break is priced in when all the $450 boxes got spontaneously bought out in January. We just don’t know yet - because it really doesn’t seem like anything’s happened yet.

But yeah. Might buy, idk.

Wow when did XY Base boxes start selling for ~$2000?

A month ago they were tied with Evolutions and now even Dave and Adam’s is selling for $1700+

I feel like an idiot because I bought one. The seller did sell 1 other thing and was selling two other different items so wasn’t no sales entirely.

What should I be worried about with this $500 box? That they don’t send anything? They send a proxy? Can/should I cancel or something? I should have known it was too good to be true.

Did you pay with paypal?

Yes but payment still processing. Should I contact seller to cancel or just stop the PayPal somehow?

Just open an INR case after a couple weeks. Don’t worry about it.

I was able to go to paypal and cancel so did that. I’ll tell seller nevermind and hopefully that works?

From what I hear, these are the tracking number scammers so easier said than done.

If there’s no signature required, then you can just claim it never arrived (even if the tracking says it did). eBay will side with you

I thought that happens at $750 and these boxes are only $500

The seller is required to purchase signature confirmation on $750+ purchases. They can still purchase it for smaller purchases if they want to. Assuming there’s no signature confirmation, then you can claim INR and win the case.

Sorry that happened. Still find it crazy that its gotten this bad… what is going on?

In the past 24 hours there have been an equal amount of scam listings sold for ~$500 as there have been actual boxes sold for ~$1,000+

Nothings going on. That’s just the usual

Price is $1,000 for a legitimate box

Makes you wonder if they aren’t dragging their feet on purpose. If they got through the backlog and flodded the market with cards, prices would drop and people would be less inclined to grade things. With supply low and prices soaring, everyone and their mother wants to grade their raw cards to cash in.
Edit:just realized I quoted an old post. I forget this forum doesn’t take you to the newest page by default…

Are you saying PSA is purposely not grading evolutions cards to pop control it and manipulate the market?

The backlog is still here, will be for months

This is horrible advice. Really lame to recommend to anyone opening a case based on lack of signature even if you receive the item in the middle of a pandemic where countless items aren’t being signed for because of postal restrictions.

The better advice is item not as described. Because that’s what’s actually going to get the right win.

How is it horrible advice? It would work. And your advice would also work. Ultimately, the goal is to get a full refund. Both of our suggestions accomplish that.

Because your advice is fraudulent? You do understand that right?

The goal is always to act within the rules when other people are shady. Encouraging others to be fraudulent, when there is a legitimate way is horrible. Sorry.
