I thought Paypal was required as a method of acceptance but I guess not. I did not have the option to pay with anything other than a Debit/Credit or G Pay
@thecharizardauthorty, yes it popped up exactly like this. It could have been a store site. Idk but it was through ebay. I just paid and it was fine. It was for a cheapy item so I didn’t mind. You still have ebay-protection.
I noticed this for the first time the day after they announced they’d be accepting other forms of payment. It probably has something to do with PayPal shutting down people’s accounts somewhat randomly. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it did feel a bit weird typing my debit card information into EBay lol.
I sometimes have it with German sellers who only enabled Bank transfer or with credit card. Since I don’t have a credit card and 99% of the time use PayPal, I usually only notice that PayPal isn’t an option after I’ve already purchased/won the auction. Luckily transferring by bank transfer isn’t a problem between The Netherlands and Germany.
Sellers can set their own payment options I think (I’m no seller, so I’m not sure). I have seen around ten auctions without PayPal as payment option thus far, so it is certainly possible. Luckily it barely happens.
