eBay Garbage

Pls do not message strangers on ebay and ask for their instagram or phone number() so you can ā€œsee detailed picturesā€ or ā€œdiscuss the terms of the dealā€. It is not subtle

You mean those shitty two pocket cardboard envelopes? Those suck

I once got an unseen forces registeel like that… PWE, no protection AT ALL! It was totally fine, but then there is this.
*Note: I LOVE my USPS. They do amazing work, go to great lengths for me and others that I see. This is among the thousands of items I’ve received via USPS; the ONLY time this has happened. That said, these were true Mint cards… :sob:

Yes. The top loader is ACTUALLY embedded between the cardboard layers of the slowbro. They were physically fused together. haha, I find the forces involved fascinating.

Honestly, and I actually said this to them in my last email, TnT has come to respresent a fall-back, and that I know it’s just about the bottom line to them, not the customer. Still, when they screw up an order or it’s damaged (which I actually haven’t had happen yet, but I can definitely see that happening) I’m going to make sure to call them on it.

Apparently the fake PSA 10 slabs have gotten too obvious so now we have to go with 4s from a grading company no one has ever heard of…

Please tell me im not the only one being plagued by 0-10 feedback, almost brand new accounts claiming that everything is lost in the post? Driving me mental, and now at the point of cancelling orders from new accounts

Assuming these are cheap items you are shipping without tracking, you might want to consider using the eBay standard envelope option. It provides tracking on all cards $20 and under for just $0.51.

Unfortunately we don’t have that option here in the UK, we just have to send through the generic postal system where tracking is basically not worth it unless you’re selling things >Ā£30, thanks for the hint though!

Nothing like filling people’s eBay searches with this fluff

Come on, everyone has a 1st edition Charzoopoo. Asking too much for it if you ask me, even as a hard PSA 10 in such mint shape like that, best I could do is card value + grading cost.

The tracking on these hardly updates. I’ve had to give refunds for orders with this tracking anyway.

I’ve been doing it since it was released in January and have never had to offer a single refund.

Buying and selling with ebay standard envelope has led to no issues for me so far. Although it is only marked as delivered less than half of the time. A buyer could easily open an item not received case, but thankfully there are some honest people out there yet and give good feedback for the less than $20 card.

The worst thing about ebay standard envelope is sometimes it is marked as delivered a day or two before actually being delivered. Myself as a buyer and buyers from me have been concerned thinking their mail got stolen when it was marked as delivered but no card in the mail box. Then the next day, it shows up.

Seems like ebay/USPS have some improvements to make to the system.

Been using for the same time. I’ve had to refund twice, but it could just be me being unlucky. I think it was just some impatient buyers.

Yep. This has happened to me a bunch of times, but the buyers always end up receiving their cards.

Ebays new ā€œcollectionā€ tracker is abysmal

I haven’t tried it out yet so I can’t speak to it but the typical strategy when a tech company wants to roll out a feature is to create a basic and sometimes abysmal barebones product in order to get it out faster with minimal time investment. If it gains traction, they will put more time in to improve it and adapt it to how it’s being used

Although you’re probably right and it’s likely abysmal today, I’m excited for what it could become

Just spent my evening putting my collection up. Basically useless, but hopefully since the data is there, it will improve

A very good point. To be fair it is only the beta.

But right now it’s not even bare bones, just a lot of false data. Seems to group slabs of different grades and also raw cards all together at times. I haven’t looked in depth but some of the lower end early wotc holos I bought raw last year are shown to have a market price of almost 100 dollars, which isn’t even close to being right.

Even if they do separate slabs and raw cards correctly, It’s going to be difficult to distinguish between the condition of the raw cards. If they go by the listing condition labels (nm, lp, etc.) there are so many listings with incorrect or deceitful labels. Maybe they take an average? Im not sure. It’s a good idea in theory for raw cards but they have their work cut out for them if they ever hope to make it useful.

And as for slabs, pokemonprice already tracks eBay sales at least for psa cards. But it could be useful to have bgs and cgc data. (Edit) and having all slab data for an entire collection would be very convenient.

Be as general as you feel comfortable with, but what state or county are you in? I’ve only had 1 lost item since ebay standard, and it was in South Carolina… IDK how Rusty’s stuff get’s out on time, but I always have issues with tracking when it goes through SC too… lol

Anyway, I think it really depends on where you’re sending FROM. As things I get from FL, TN, and the mid west often don’t update as they should. Also, anything leaving SoCal through LA seems to stop in LA for ever… probably gets stuck in SoCal traffic.
