I absolutely agree that this is probably more on point with how Gengar should be presented, but the childhood nostalgia in me wants it to be a bit more light-hearted. :laughing:

Interesting to see Sabrina’s Gengar (holo) rank so high. I was never fond of it (even with the JP graveyard background) because of the stock art and how small Gengar looks. Always preferred Sabrina’s Gengar (non-holo) because the expression is perfect.

Disappointed that the most bland overrated ones were top 3. Sowsow is good but I think that gengar form is just so dumb

Crazy that the card with the second most votes is not even an actual card. Whats even more crazy is that you all did Kusube so dirty.

I was coming to rant about the results but apparently all my laments have already been covered in comments, funny that the voting results are very clear but then the comment section is relatively unanimous about why the results are wrong.

I can accept the first place since masaki is an iconic one but the second one indeed is just a stock art, no matter that this time the background is fitting unlike so many other stock art cards, but that too was partly changed in english print. Third place is also interesting since i do love Sowsow but this card just doesn’t do it for me and it’s actually the single reason i limited my Sowsow cards in half arts only and sold the rest. Didn’t feel right that the most valuable one of them was a card i didn’t like at all.

I can also accept that the Komiya 151 one isn’t higher since i probably value its eyes more than average person but the neo destiny one by Kusube really got robbed. It perfectly captures the sinister shadyness of gengar and adds that mischievous grin to represent both sides of its nature. The best card by Kusube and one of the best cards ever printed.

Masaki looks like stock art even if it may not be and Gym is stock art. Nostalgia glasses really strong with this poll.

I do actually like the sowsow VMAX a lot and Gengar hasn’t actually had a real special art of its own which is kind of incredible given how popular it is. Midori Harada’s tag team is very mid.

The only reason why I don’t feel too strongly about the results is because I have always preferred Haunter.
