E4 Secret Santa 2024 [PICTURE THREAD]

The cafe is really fun. The more you look the more you see. Are those mysterious tokens on the counter?

Strange currency for a cafe… what could this mysterious appearance mean??? Could this be what theyre used for? More research is needed.

@niece who can say? Maybe someone with more knowledge could find and reveal more tokens

I love the whole setup and the artwork. I was trying to find all possible Easter eggs! The attendant Seviper just really cracked me up and the Dragonite with the tie is adorable. Just really awesome and special.

Cheers!

Since people are enjoying the drawing, here’s your mostly comprehensive easter egg guide:

  • Myself and all of the eevee collectors (@eeveeteam, @chefonaquest, @eievui, etc.) stealing a recipe
  • @mrbubbles and / or @Dyl chasing eevee
  • @pfm confused about a menu item
  • @lamplamp & @ragingkraken heating up the oven
  • The option on the right to enter the ā€œConstructive Discussionā€ room or the ā€œArguing!ā€ room
  • @Quuador carrying plates
  • @joponnes moving a chair (hopefully he cleaned it off?)
  • @citriina opening the cafe and taking orders
  • future newly minted Cabal member @circlehunter joining the secret room
  • The secret room
  • Mysterious tokens (or are they? @lyleberr?) on the counter
  • Tucked below the awning are ā€œmenusā€ which is really just post categories
  • A gacha machine on the counter for people that can’t help themselves

Yeah, same. I’m waiting on just one piece from Japan, but it might not come on time. So might have to send a supplement package a bit later

My Secret Santa gift arrived today, and all I can say is I’m blown away by the generosity and thoughtfulness from my Santa (who decided to remain anonymous, which is exactly in line with their stoic, selfless personality - I’m pretty sure I know who they are, but won’t mention them to maintain their wish for anonymity… and on the chance I’m wrong!) After reading the purity and sincerity in the letter, I’m sure other regular Fourum members will know who it is straight away

Just to say thank you so much - the effort, thought (and money!!) that has gone into my gift is amazing, and I’m incredibly grateful.

Here’s what I received:

Neatly packed, thoughtfully wrapped and a handwritten note (in some of the neatest, cleanest handwriting I’ve seen!)

This put such a smile on my face, and as soon as I saw it I had an idea who it might be from!

Reading my letter was the best part of my gift and has made my week! I will definitely make a collection thread in 2025 and update my 2025 Goals post. I opened the presents in order, and you were right, it definitely built the suspense as I’ll show below!! This letter will take pride of place somewhere - I’ve not decided whether I’m going to fold it and put it in a binder slot or in my memory box…

I now own a beautiful, hand-drawn 1 of 1 Lugia! One of my favourite PokĆ©mon since The PokĆ©mon Movie 2000. I’ll be keeping this in my memory box - I don’t think it will go in a binder slot though, as I don’t want to put a crease in it!

The Pistacchio chocolate no longer exists…there’s no evidence it even arrived in my house. Good thing my girlfriend arrives home an hour later than me :smiling_imp: :yum:

As soon as I opened package 1, I knew this was the best Secret Santa I could have gotten. There’s also one small detail that not everyone would notice, which makes me even more confident I know who my Santa is!.. The Japanese 1998 Quick Starter Gift Set contained copies of the Gust of Wind and Switch Trainer cards, however they weren’t true ā€˜Japanese Base Set No Rarity’, as the card descriptions are different from those in the main set. Unfortunately grading companies (unless recently rectified) have not distinguished between the two variants, so people will mistakenly sell their Quick Starter Gift Set copies of Gust of Wind and Switch as ā€œJapanese Baseā€, which they aren’t. My Santa even went as far as making sure the copies they gave me were true ā€˜Base Set’ versions!

Opening package 2 brought another big smile to my face - these are the very first Japanese ex era cards I’ve owned! The Magcargo especially brings back great memories as I pulled one from an (English) Ex Dragon pack back in the day! Sadly I no longer have that copy but this is an even better replacement. I’ve placed these 3 cards safely at the back of my current binder, ready to start building on those collections in the coming years.

Just when I thought it couldn’t get better, I opened my 3rd package and was filled with even more delight! I did smack myself on the forehead though: I recently bought myself some No Rarity cards, completely forgetting that I’d mentioned them on my Secret Santa form! Thankfully, none of the ones I bought messed things up for my Santa!

Finally, my 4th package rounded off the already wonderful gifts with one massive tidal wave of generosity. The 4th package fittingly gave me my 4th ever No Rarity collection holo, and in absolutely fantastic condition too!

I couldn’t be happier with my gifts, even if I’d only received half of what was in the packages. I’ve placed my new cards in my binder (pages below), and what makes me even happier than receiving these cards is that fact that a huge part of my first binder collection has been built by one of the best people on eFour, making it completely invaluable and an amazing Christmas present.

Very cool! I think I enjoy looking at the crafts in the picture thread as much as the cards!

Thanks for sharing @lamplamp !

Well done @DarthEevee ! PS I’ve legitimately always thought your avatar was Muk but now I realize I just need glasses so thanks for that…

Awesome gift! Thanks for sharing!

Well done mystery secret Santa!

I don’t want to hijack the topic but I’ve found that a good ole 3 ring binder and polypropylene sheet protectors are great for preserving notes and drawings while still being able to thumb through them.

Just figured I’d throw it out as a suggestion since I’ve gone through a similar conundrum

Great suggestion Mr G thanks - I’ll grab one today!
