Just got back from my Flight last night and opened this amazing gift from @hcd
I was totally stunned by this amazing Charizard sketch, S+ Art and these amazing Jumbo/Oversized cards of Charizard and Darkrai (Darkrai is my favorite sinnoh Pokémon). I can’t wait to put these 3 on my office wall!!!
Next I was surprised by awesome play promo trainer cards! I love using higher rarity cards and I’m excited to path + judge combo someone with that staff Judge (promise I’m not toxic).
Next up these awesome standard ex cards, I’m a huge gardevoir / roaring moon fan as well as Tsareena I haven’t used before, but I will definitely look into trying Tsareena. Also thank you for the signed card will go right into my E4 signed binder as well as a Staff Promo Lycanroc! I actually really love Lycanroc, one of mt favorite Sun & Moon era Pokémon alongside Rowlett.
Last but not least I received a lot of insane Diamond & Pearl era Japanese Holos! This was definitely a call to action for me to stop slacking on my JP DP collection and continue finishing up sets! Diamond & Pearl is my favorite era of all of Pokémon since I grew up with it.
I just want to say Thank you again to @hcd for this super thoughtful gift and it definitely made my Christmas this year! I’ve never had such a hand personalized gift like this in my life and I will treasure all of these cards in my collection as well as hopefully win some tournaments with those trainer cards!
After patiently waiting for Christmas I was overjoyed when I opened this amazing gift from @triple
First we started with this excellent Ditto art, some sweet stickers and this signed Alolan Vulpix from Triple! I REALLY wish I knew about the signed card tradition before I mailed out my gift to my recipient. This is such a cool piece to add to the collection!
Second I came across a few Play Pokemon booster packs and this AWESOME Pikachu promo card! From what I understand these packs and promos are only given out to people who participate in Pokemon league events which makes them even more special! Also, I am a Gen 1 boomer so Pikachu + Charizard = win in my book!
Initially I was planning on keeping the packs sealed because 1) I have terrible luck opening packs and 2) I think they are neat as is…but…if Triple insists I open some of them so he can see what I pull it would be difficult to say no…
The third item hit me right in my feelings. The Alakazam Special Illustration Rare from 151. I don’t generally collect modern, but being a huge Alakzam fan this is one of those cards that I knew I had to get my hands on. The fact that it came as a gift from an e4 member makes it so much more special than if I had just purchased it online!
And for the grand finale…this absolutely beatiful Neo Discovery Espeon! This is a card that I have wanted for such a long time! I am currently rearranging my display so it can live next to my Neo Discovery Umbreon forever!
Thank you so much @triple I hadn’t been this excited to open a Christmas Gift since I was a kid and you nailed it! All of your gifts will be cherished in my collection forever!
My secret santa gift from @nikhil had actually arrived a couple weeks ago, but I didn’t get a chance to open it until recently and then figured it was close enough to Christmas already to just wait. I think I was probably a pretty difficult person to shop for, as I’m mainly just a Latias species collector (of which I’ve already pretty much completed most of my goals) along with random small Japanese promo sets/cards, so I was very intrigued to see what he would do!
I opened one package and inside was a Touch Exchange from the Spring Battle Road! I think I had written in my note that I enjoyed collecting cards with interesting histories behind them, and this one fit the bill perfectly! I didn’t have it too, so it’ll make a great addition to my promo collection. After reading up about it on Bulbapedia, I might need to get the DP Tag Battle version to complete the pair. I think I had also written that I liked cards with cute arts, and who wouldn’t love a trio of carefree Hoppips drawn by Himeno? I’m not sure if it was coincidence or not, but it’ll also go great as a pair with my Natta Wake Hoppip that I got signed by Himeno earlier this year in Charlotte.
The other package contained a nice Latias pin that I’ll definitely add to my ever-growing Latias shrine, but the art piece that Nikhil did made my jaw drop. A single picture would do it zero justice, so I’ve linked a short video to show it off (sorry I’m not sure how to embed videos directly into the post). This must have taken so much time and was super creative (I think I flipped through it like 20 times when I first opened it)!
I was finally able to get my mail. I can’t thank you enough @wooltchi for the incredible gift, but more importantly the GORGEOUS framed Eevee art. This is going to sit on my desk (I’d take a picture of it there, but we’re already all packed up to move):
Glad you enjoyed opening it – it was fun poking around your E4 history seeing what you would like. My first time participating in the E4 secret santa and had a lot of fun putting it together. I’m flying back home tomorrow so excited to open mine tomorrow
Good luck with your competitive TCG aspirations and have a merry xmas!
I received my secret Santa gift today from @mrtz and just have to say thank you so much! You really knocked it out of the park with these gifts!
First up is this adorable Pokémon postcard Mr. Tony used as… get this, a literal postcard (I thought that was super cool and thoughtful) and he drew an adorable surfing Pikachu to boot! I love it and did not know that neat fact
Next was a complete in box Japanese Silver version!!! This one really made me feel like a kid on Christmas morning opening up a new Pokémon game… love it. I’ve been really into playing the old carts again but want to keep my save files on each one so this is absolutely perfect. Also, what a fun way to practice reading kanj!
I couldn’t believe there was more but there was. 5 packs of Paradox rift and these two neat little carddass type cards! Not really familiar with what these are but I love the warm and fuzzy art and the cool holo pattern. I got some pretty sweet pulls from the packs too!
My sincere apologies. I had received my Secret Santa gift a few days ago but was kept aside with regular mail. Today to my very surprise, i was happy to see the Secret Santa box and eagerly tore into it.
A very hearty and immense thank you to @thymeee for my gift. Thank you for your generosity and the work put in to pick out the cards for me. As a promo collector and enthusiast I really could not have asked for any more.
I will begin with the most adorable yet derpy Dragonite drawing. Thank you very much.
Last but not least l, this April 98, corocoro magazine Jumbo promo card. I really enjoyed the first movie which also made me a fan of Mewtwo and Mew. This is really such a gorgeous card which captures the essence of the first movie. Thank you so much for this.
Again, much thanks for the bottom of my heart. I know and have met Thymee before at an event and considering his love and enthusiasm for JP promo cards, I believe that these would have been from his personal collection. I will treasure these cards forever.
Hopefully you had a lovely Christmas. Wishing you and everyone on E4 a happy and peaceful new year of 2024.
I recently picked up the other other Palkia while I was in Toronto a couple months ago from the regionals tournament. I’m glad to have the other one now.
I am so glad you enjoyed your gift and cracking open those packs! Hopefully those new Gardevoir got you one step closer to completing your Gardevoir collection. And I look forward to seeing the complete collection! Have a happy Holidays
Thank you for the super thoughtful gift @A.P.Speeze
A.P. Speeze’s present arrived a few days before Christmas, and resisting the urge to open it before Christmas Day was a challenge! Here is the awesome gift pictured right after I opened it:
The Lugia artwork is fantastic and brought back memories of two of my favorite video games, Pokemon XD and Pokemon Silver!
The Radiant Zard complements my shiny collection and Charizard collection perfectly. The Blastoise is one I wasn’t familiar with, and its artwork is incredible and unique. I also enjoyed learning about its origins!
I was also very thrilled to see the Coro Coro Pikachu and Yokohama World Championships Pikachu. I can’t wait to add them to my Japanese Promo binder collection!
