If I clear my history on my phone/computer I always have to log back in, even if I have clicked the “remember me” check box. Also, if I exit out of my browser completely it makes me log back on to efour. I’m not very tech savvy lol so I hope this helps.
Different internet browsers (Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer (lol), etc.) have different configurations that would affect your login.
In “simple” terms (I can be wrong), this is what happens:
When you login to Efour, the browser stores “IDs” where the server (efour) would recognize you as being login. However, stuff you do can affect this and make you logout:
If you wipe your entire history, including temporary files/cache, the server (efour) can no longer recognize your login since you no longer have the stored files that the server can verify with. When you visit the website and login, some data from the server is stored temporarily into your browser so it can verify your status. Without those files, it just assumes you never have login before.
The server (efour) decided on a timeout counter which automatically logs you out if you did no actions (like clicking or refreshing) for a certain period of time. This is nothing you can do about, but it’s a common security feature on a lot of websites, especially for banks.
You’re on private browsing, and if you close the tabs, everything is essentially wiped, sort of like if you cleared your history like option 1. Therefore you automatically logged out no matter what.
There are other reasons but those are the most commons ones.
Glad it got solved Gary (especially that you solved it yourself finally)! Always happy to help! I’m not always on now (life’s a challenge sometimes), but I will still try to contribute and help as best as I can, but sorry I wasn’t able to answer all your questions before you figured it out yourself
“Private” browsing on the iPad would wipe all historic data, along with password storage, so if you notice whichever browser/website you’re on gets the data wiped frequently, you should check the left side of the browser to see if private is on.
@collectortyler : Hehehe, my young padawan, Gary said he was on an Ipad which means he’s not on Google Chrome, meaning he won’t know what incognito means!
