Thanks to the amazing archive of threads on e4 I’ve learned a ton about collecting over the last number of weeks. Species collecting, in particular, peaked my interest so I decided to begin a collection of my favorite non-legendary legendary line - Growlithe and Arcanine.
In this thread I am excited to share the humble beginnings of my growing Growlithe and Arcanine collections and record its progress.
I intend on collecting each unique English Growlithe and Arcanine card, potentially branching out into Japanese at some point. As you can see in the photos I am beginning with the easy-to-obtain Growlithe cards before working my way up the price chart and evolution line to cards like 1st Edition Blaine’s Arcanine and other WOTC holos.
Looking forward to sharing my progress with you all!

Very nice first binder pages! Growlithe and Arcanine are wonderful Pokemon to collect as species and the cards you have collected so far are fantastic. Eagerly looking forward to more of your updates! Thanks for sharing.

Collection update - I now have 48 of the 75* unique English Growlithe cards in my collection with 9 more in the mail.
I’ve also reorganized a bit, adding the Charmander Obsidian Flames ETB sleeves as place holders which I think complement the colors of the Growlithe cards beautifully. I’ve also filled out the last page with some holo energies, Expansion Pack Growlithe, Topps Growlithe, and a little sticker an ebay seller was kind enough to throw in my order.
Excited to add some of the (relatively) heavy-hitters to the collection in the coming weeks ie. Legendary Collection Reverse, 1st Edition Base, Aquapolis reverse holo, Skyridge reverse holo and others.
Until next time.

* If anyone has a different count, please let me know (I’m not counting e-reader variants)
