Damaged Box Question

Hi guys, can I get some opinions, recieved a 1st ed fossil box in the mail and the wotc wrapping has been damaged and its slit open at the side, prob about half the length of a finger. It was relatively well wrapped, boxes where layered in bubblebath wrap but they where not in a hard container like the tupawear boxes etc.Think I should send this back? It was a pretty large deal so its kind of a bummer

Pictures would really help in this situation, was it as described, as pictured? Could you see the damage before you bought it?

no, it was described as minty, the box does have a checked sticker on it, surely customs wouldnt just perform one random little slice? Uh, customs might have very well cut that. It happened to me that they opened a 1st ed box and even opened some boosters. The last few months alone, at least a dozen boxes got opened in europe. Normally they completely open it though, so the cut might have already been there too. It could´ve also happened when they handled the box/opened the package.

I assume this is because of the war on drugs, ugh what a shame to think of a WOTC box being opened to check for drugs when the item it’s self is probably worth as much if not more lol.

Was the cut in the images of the original posting? To me this looks like somebody was going to open the box but decided not too after making the cut with a blade.

From the looks of it everything seems intact. Might not even be the sellers fault. eBay is a nightmare for returns tho. Reminding me not to sell anything on eBay in the future. Too many people are quick to return. Is there even one pack opened? Or is the only thing wrong the tiny slit?

Definitely not worth the price of a minty one now though.

True it might justify a partial refund of X amount of dollars. But it also is a international deal which who knows what happened in shipping process. I mostly feel bad for the seller.
