Early yesterday morning I found a posting where a guy was selling the big three, all in 1st edition for $500. I quickly messaged him and agreed to purchase the cards upon inspecting them. I asked him if he had any other cards, and he had this new age Charizard for an extra $100. Well we sealed the deal this morning, I know they are not gem mint 10s but I never thought I would be able to add all three to my collection for this price. The Charizard EX is in perfect condition, except for centering is a little off so I’m hoping for a 9 on that. I’ve been trying to complete the base set in 1st edition, and figured I would spend at least this much in just the Charizard alone with the way eBay has been. Sending them in to PSA later today.

I just spent a few minutes looking at kijiji… Almost found a decent deal… Then I realized it was posted a few days ago… Pokemon Silver for $20…

Sweet deal! The Charizard alone is probably worth more than $600.

I gave up trying to score local deals, but I guess I should still check from time to time.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. I will update this thread when they come back from PSA. Luckily I still had my subscription vouchers, so I’m hoping it’s only a few weeks compared to months.

I checked local classified ads after I saw this thread and people wanted $1000 for a couple binders of played holos. Last time I even saw a 1st Ed Charizard the guy was asking $5000 CAD for an ungraded 6-7. Lol

Figured I would update this post. Just got my grades back, the Charizard got a 2, Venusaur a 4, and Blastoise a 6. For the price I paid, can’t complain :grin:

You could probably sell that PSA 2 for a premium people seem to look for 2s because it’s tough to get something just above a PSA 1 poor

I searched for “pokemon” on my local craigslist. I total of 5 listings one of which was a single card. A beat up ancient mew for $300. I hate my town lol
