Usually, there´s some kind of line with sealed product in Pokémon (boosterboxes at least). Sets gradually go up in value, drop if a reprint hits, and then climb again. Some more quick than others, but the line is pretty straight.
Not with Cosmic Eclipse. It was selling for about 2k in 2023, then steadily rose to about 4k a year ago and from there it got weird. This summer, it rose to over 5k, with quite some sales at a price near 5.5k suggesting it was going up again. However, it came back down immediately, and not just that, it dropped below 4k, to 3.7.
It now seems that Unified minds and Unbroken bonds are actually overtaking it, which doesn´t make a lot of sense at all (but I´m all for it, since I like Unbroken Bonds for some reason). Have others noticed this?
I meant that the love birds do a lot of heavy lifting for tag teams as a whole, meaning that the tag teams are (dare i say) “overvalued”…
My comment was a mix of sarcasm, truth, and regret at not buying tag teams when they were under $50 a piece. Is what it is
Yeah, I actually went pretty hard on them because they were a breath of fresh air to me between the ugly early Sun & Moon sets and early Sword & Shield.
As far as modern goes, I think Cosmic/Dream League & Crown Zenith/VSTAR Universe are the two best sets by a decent margin. After that, probably BBWF, Ascended, VMAX Climax in some order
