CoroCoro Japanese Promo - Reprinted edition

Although the Japanese promo of the CoroCoro is famous, a reprinted edition exists.
It was planned four times in the CoroCoro, and each was distributed to 2000 people.
How to distinguish between regular version and reprinted edition is unknown.
However, discrimination is possible in case of unopened.

I tried translating the note that came with the cards. It seems that they were awarded for winning a contest. Do you know what the contest was for?

I will post the application ticket on a postcard.

@nine

So this could explain why I got 2 CoroCoro Mew’s (not the JR Rally) which clearly come from a different printrun. The picture itself is in both cards very clear and similair, but the frame, which is purple, is a different kind of purple.

I might got the original and the reprint? It’s just like the Mew from the ‘Best Collection CD’ and the ‘World Hobby Fair’ of 1997.

@skinst , @quuador, new collection goals!?

It may be a Reprinted edition.

I can confirm the difference.
But I do not have the courage.

Hmmm, I’d consider obtaining a sealed copy since that seems pretty unique. If I came across the unpeeled version, then I may go for it, depending on price.

TBH, I only obtained the CD/World Hobby Fair Bubble Mews by pure luck. I imagine this might be the same thing.

@nine, Any idea which Reprinted ones sold and how much they went for? The links don’t work anymore. Thanks!

I have quite a few of the reprint ones. What are they from and are they rare? I’ve just had them in a box since I have no idea how to price them.

I don’t know but if you decide a price let me know.

So you have a spare Mew?

This glossy Pikachu has the error fixed.

And even now we still discover new Pikachu variations from pre-2000. :open_mouth: Thanks a lot for sharing, @KEI. I’ll be on the lookout for a new Pikachu variation for my collection.
