Complete Shining Japanese Set Neo 3/4

Does anyone know the rough prices of mewtwo/tyranitar/zard in a 9? Last 3 I need and I dont just want to go off one pwcc sale or two in zards case which are both quite different but one month apart. Seeing mewtwo at £1150-1500 but that’s the only one I’ve really got more than just pwcc to go off.

I recently finished collecting the Japanese Shinings in PSA 9, so I can help with some private data. The recent PWCC block was definitely a mix of several PSA 9s selling higher than I expected, several of them selling lower than expected.

I bought:

• PSA 9 Mewtwo in early Feb for 1565 Euros (through E4)
• PSA 9 Tyranitar in early Feb for 1650 Euros (through E4)
• PSA 9 Charizard in early Dec for 2800 Euros (through Facebook)

I think the Charizard might be too old by now, as it has clearly sold for more recently, but hope it helps regardless. Good luck with completing your set!

Good to see PSA 9 shinings are getting some attention finally, they were overshadowed so long by PSA 10’s ( mostly for reason, Charizard and especially Noctowl/Raichu caused massive headache to many people ).

For sure. It’s rediculous how long these have been ignored considering how tough they are to pull and grade compared to the English versions.
Also wondering how many people re-entering the hobby now will start searching for them after seeing the 25th anniversary video that features them:

Some absolutely crazy prices on PWCC last month. Way beyond my expectation I bid on three of them worrying that I would be overspending and would have to sell some stuff if I won all three but hoping to win at least one. I ended up nowhere near any of the top bids unfortunately. In the last few days a lot of the significant ones were paid for.

Also looking for a few for making my sets complete. Maybe there are alot of those cards at psa for grading where it will be more available?

Up until these recent sales, Japanese shinings in graded psa 8 and some 9 conditions were selling for less than store BUYLIST prices in japan. I paid 1.6 for a psa 9 charizard and 500 for a ttar in september, when i could (no joke) flip it to a store in Japan for profit instantly. They weren’t snipes or anything either, they were both on ebay and instagram for weeks before I decided. People just didn’t really care about them for the longest time. Psa 9 prices were lower than raw prices in japan consistently as well. Also, these things are way harder to pull than english counterparts. So, something tells me there aren’t a lot of these cards at psa, unfortunately for myself as I’m still missing 5. Exception being shining mew, i’d count on a lot of those at psa.

O wow, such a difference between the English shinings. I don’t know how many shinings are circulating in the japanese market and japanese collectors. less then we think i guess.

I guess so. The seller recently followed me on IG I could ask him. That’s a card that’s sales belong on PWCC all day long. I managed to agree a deal on my first shining addition of 2021 yesterday!

Thanks, I’m going for 8s or higher on the rest, after the last auction. if prices hold, then 9s are no longer within my budget. I have an 8 celebi already. Luckily I got 2 of the most expensive ones (fan club karp and charizard) out of the way. Gyarados is gonna be rough.
