Collection Spring Cleaning

With everything that’s going on with the cornavirus I’ve had alot more time to do some “spring cleaning” with my personal pokemon collection i.e reorganizing/getting rid of extra/no longer wanted stuff. I was wondering if anybody else was doing the same.

Right now I’ve started making long overdue binder sets for topps cards and XY Evolutions.

I’m about
to start redoing my energy collection too. I had made up some info cards to put in between each set but wasn’t happy with them, so I made new ones. I like these much better. Just a little info about the energy cards in each set.

@amcgl58, not really getting rid of much, but I am in the process of organizing a lot of things while creating a binder set of card arts which was inspired from a thread i made a little ways back: www.elitefourum.com/t/humorous-wholesome-card-art/26050/1

Since making that the idea was always there for me to go this route, but with all this extra time in now I figured Id start it up!

I’m a huge fan of the card arts and I love the energy collection. Hopefully I’m able to finish putting together all the binder sets that have been sitting in piles on my desk the past year plus. After I finish the topps and XY evolutions I wanted to put together my 4th print base set R/U/C. As far as getting rid of stuff, I have a bunch of stuff that’s slowly piled up that didnt make the grading cut for me.

Unfortunately I already re-organized my entire collection half a year ago, haha. With over 11,000 non-duplicated cards, that was easier said than done. I’ve also cataloged all of them, so I now know which cards I have / don’t have when new cards are added.

Then again, despite being in quarantine, I still have to work as usual, just from home. I actually make more hours now than before the virus… Usually I’d work two days at home, and three days at the office. Due to travel times (two times ~1.5-2 hours) I usually work from 08:30 to 16:00 at the office, and 08:00 to 18:15 at home. But since I’m now home five days, I’m way over my normal work week hours by still working from roughly 08:30 to 18:15 all five days, haha.

I do plan on re-organizing my Yu-Gi-Oh rarity collection and last few pages of my Pikachu collection a bit. There have been some in-between releases (mostly McDonald’s cards and some misprints I acquired) that are now stuck at the very back because I lacked the space in between in my binders. So will try to fix that soon.

I will mostly be continuing on my Yu-Gi-Oh rarity article for the upcoming few weeks tbh.

Greetz,
Quuador

I moved into my current rental in August last year, and I never got around to properly organising the room I keep my collection in. Right now it’s a bunch of boxes, a safe, some stacks of PSA return boxes with graded cards in them. Now that I am 2 weeks isolation I actually have a chance to get in there and clean it all up. I’ve taken a before picture already and will definitely do an after photo.

Hope this link works. Let me know if I missed anything or got anything wrong.

I’m in healthcare so no quarantine for me, but I feel like I do this from time to time. I’m also minimal to the extreme lol. I like having a focused small collection and have organized them in binders to my liking many times. After I had the binders set up I started to look at which sets I don’t like as much as others. Got rid of some lesser sets lol. I found my happy place is as few of binders as possible and keep all the higher end cards not in sets graded and separated. It’s where I have finally stetted now and hope to keep it that way!

Wow! Thank you so so much! Those look amazing

Thanks, I wanted something to separate each set and help me remember what they are. I sized them to be the same size as a card so they can fit into a binder sleeve.

I did my ‘Spring Cleaning’ for my collection at the beginning of the year. Went through my PSA cards and sold everything that didn’t make me happy or didn’t fit into my collection goals.

While it still stung a little bit to let them go, I’m all about quality over quantity.

This is the perfect time to organize though. Perhaps I’ll sort my bulk boxes with the extra time I have at home.

  • And what an interesting way of sorting your cards, with the help of informational separators. Thanks for sharing the link @risingtrout, very cool!
