I’ve seen some videos on YouTube of people cleaning with regular water and a microfiber cloth. Anyone have advice on how to remove surface dirt, dust or other light debris that is on an otherwise mint card; prior to sending it in for grading, without causing damage? I need to clean a shining gyarados and it’s nerve wracking since I have never cleaned a card and this appears to be something minor but I want to be 100% sure I am using the right method and tools… anyone have general advice or experience on how I should go about this… thank you.
I’ve use the water/cloth method for those black specs a few times and had no issue. Didn’t do anything special, just made sure to be very careful and practice on some trash cards first. Seemed to clear my little specs.
I’ve used a cotton swab. Roll the head on a wet survace(don’t drench just moisten) and gentle wipe the debris off. Use the dry head to remove and excess moisture of the card, tab it off gently. You should have successfully removed debris from your card.
