Chinese Pokemon Cards

First post here - wanted to share some of my S-Chinese cards with some fellow enthusiasts! I completed the new Nine Colors Gathering cs4aC master set this week, very proud! It’s a beautiful set and the quality is on another level compared to my Evolving Skies master set.

I definitely notice a difference in the glitter/foil between some of the HR & UR cards due to the printing variations. I think I prefer the skinny pack/reduced glitter variant - I can see the artwork much more haha.

I really like the aesthetic of the Chinese language, I think the blocky and dense lettering looks really cool on cards.

Happy to get Umbreon CSR in another language as usual

That’s a very nice first post, awesome looking binder pages! Welcome to the forum

Also, @krystalkollectz love the sparkle of that promo pack rayquaza, the artwork is among my favourites and the foil pattern really makes it shine

It’s nice that the Taipei Pokemon Center doesn’t remove the wrap from boxes like they have been doing in Japan

How are print lines compared to Japanese? Don’t think I see any/many in this thread whereas Japanese it’s really common.

i see more texture mis-alignment errors than print lines tbh but for some sets like battle region seems to be an issue for every language.

Anyone know how many simplified chinese decks have been released for sunmoon? I know 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, and 5.0 but did they skip 4.0 or am i missing it?

Note: the 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, etc. naming is used unofficially in Asian regions (Taiwan, HK, Thai, Indonesia and China) to refer to main sets by their release order. This kind of naming can easily pile up confusions as more sets being released (for example “3.0” in China is actually the first set in SWSH, or people in Taiwan calling AS5 “3.0” due to the AC-to-AS switch) so you might want to avoid using it, especially for international collectors.

As a direct answer to your question, “4.0” = CS2 and “6.0” = CS4 don’t have deck products accompanying the main sets. The expansion marks allocated for the supposed-to-be decks are instead assigned to the following products which are directly ported from Japan (hence the -a suffix like CS2Da and CS4Da):

That the one thing that I find hard with simple Chinese is trying to work out what set cars got put into and if they got the same art as traditional Chinese.

Like does anyone know if traditional or simplified Chinese got the snorlax art that was in hidden fates in English or the family board game with the mewtwo stamp

Not in Simplified Chinese.

Figuring cards in Asian sets is indeed a problem, for me I have a list of all set mappings for secret/full art cards which I spent huge effort maintaining.

Thank you for taking the time with such a detailed answer. I wasnt quite sure the correct nomenclature for them so this very much helps keep them straight and see all the amazing looking products that have been released.

CS4DA 起始卡组100 is going to kill me :sob:

Also thanks for updating the rest of us who arent able to follow these releases and laying the information out clearly.

Record some quick notes here so I can look back later when I have time to edit my articles.

Start Deck 100 in China is mostly the same as in Japan and other regions but with a twist:

Yes, they have another secret deck. Fortunately this deck won’t attract a lot of additional collectors since it’s just a Colorless deck with all the Gold Energies in SWSH.

Due to the addition of this Deck #102, the differences of the China version from the original are:

  • The following cards had no reverse Holofoil copies in the original product, but now got reverse Holofoil copies in Simplified Chinese in Deck #102:
    • 038/414 Gossifleur
    • 040/414 Eldegoss
    • 334/414 Blissey V (@qwachansey)
    • 341/414 Snorlax (@Sleepingfatboi)
    • 351/414 Rufflet
    • 352/414 Braviary
    • 381/414 Level Ball
  • The following cards were not included in the original product, but were introduced in Simplified Chinese by Deck #102:
    • Milcery (Brilliant Stars 70) as 415/414 (regular reverse Holofoil print)
    • Alcremie (Brilliant Stars 71) as 416/414 (regular reverse Holofoil print)
    • Café Master (Brilliant Stars 133) as 417/414 (regular reverse Holofoil print)
  • Due to the addition of the cards above, all secret cards from Pikachu V (from 415/414 to 418/414) to Galarian Moltres V (from 422/414 to 425/414) have their indices moved by 3
  • Basic Energies have their Gold Full Art prints added to the Simplified Chinese set as 426/414 (Grass) to 433/414 (Metal)

Thanks for all the info. I’ll probably try for around 20 sealed decks to get a good possible range if I can find anyone with a decent price. I doubt itll contain the secret decks but as long as i never open them I can always pretend it does.
