I’ve found an item I wanna buy in USA but it’s 8kg and quite large. Shipping quotes are throwing up crazy quotes of like $1000 etc. Item is only worth $70 or so - who’s the best courier to use to send to the UK from USA?
They will take both actual weight (8kg) and volumetric weight (l x w x h x conversion factor) and charge you whichever is higher. Given the dimensions, you seem to exceed standard shipping box sizes hence the added premium. That, plus any additional charges for “special care items”.
If not in a rush, choose shipment by sea, not air. It takes longer but cuts shipping fees by a lot.
USPS would charge around $120.00 for that.
Are the measurements for the item or for the ready to ship package? (It’s very close to not being shippable.)
