Cards that flipped you on a theme you didn't like

I was never a fan of “Owner’s Pokemon” but this Steven’s Metagross ex is perhaps the best looking metagross we have ever had (Including the gold star, since I never liked the flying saucer crap)

Something hard about nailing down the idea of a heavy, physical psychic type but this card does it so well!

Definitely a Chef’s kiss, but also brings back those sour, sour memories of only getting Beldum after beating the Elite 4. ffs

Thats when emerald starts!

I’m just stuck in the old ways

As the spiritual successor to Gold Stars, Radiant Pokémon felt like a missed opportunity. But this Greninja was exactly what I wanted for all Radiant Pokémon

I was never a fan of the earlier full arts (the earlier CGI-riddled ones born from B&W Zekrom and Reshiram). Dream League was the turning point for me, as it expanded Miracle Twin with much more aesthetically pleasing art rares. (Lol, and these happen to be owner’s Pokemon, I don’t have much of an opinion either way on that theme, but for me its about the art aesthetic rather than the fact they’re owner’s Pokemon). And of course this got improved on much further still in SWSH.

I have no testimony to offer. The only thing wrong with these cards is the gratuitous noun in front of the names.
