Over the years, there has been many promos (and more recently, sets) with unique stamps on the artwork of the card. Some of these stamps are cool and may even add to the card, others are just tacky and cheap looking. What’s your least favorite stamped card?
I’ll go first:
Both cards that should have been very cool. Both cards ruined by giant ugly stamps. I actually dislike most, if not all Celebrations cards because of this– but the stark yellow against the soft purple of the rest of the card makes it the worst for me. Don’t even get me started about the beautiful shiny Eevee artwork sullied by the gaudy Pokemon Go logo.
It’s like if the Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat had the Van Gogh museum’s logo. (Mock-up created by me in 5 seconds on paint dot net. Not a real card.)
I’m also not a huge fan of the Single Strike/Rapid Strike indicators on certain cards.
Especially egregious since no other White Kyurem illustration comes close to this caliber. Unlike the pikatumor which automatically destroys everything it touches it’s not actually an unattractive stamp, it’s just completely in the way as demonstrated by the unspoiled japanese version.
And continuing on the Latias @traineramy and Marill and Draonair @Dyl posted, this Stantler is pretty bad as well for the same reason (Latias is still in a league of its own in terms of bad stamp placement, tbh):
I don’t mind stamps in general that much tbh, even if some do ruin the otherwise clean artworks. Kinda also why I prefer non-holo or Reverse Holo over holo cards most of the time.
Thinking of the inverse of this, I could only think of one artwork that I always liked for having a stamp (although it also looks great without it, tbh):

The latest MacDonald Pikachu is super cute. But I despise the company and how they handled the youngest promo event. Therefore the card is ruined to me.
