Buyer requested return on item

So someone bought an item from me on ebay, the item itself has 4 working days dispatch. 1 day later after purchasing he messged me asking for shipping update and at the same time requested a return stating he “Found a better price”.

What’s the best thing to do in this situation?

Best thing to do? Speak to eBay customer service

Does your listing state returns are accepted?

No it doesn’t

I’m confused. Did you already ship it?

No I haven’t even shipped it yet but he requested a return because he found a better price

Refund him and relist it. Simple.

Agreed, it is not worth the hassle of dealing with that buyer. If you already paid for postage, I think you can request a refund within 48 hours

Alright, thanks for the help. I’ll refund, kinda annoying but it is what it is I guess

Definitely annoying, but it’s the path of least resistance. Your alternate option is ship it and he’ll open a case with eBay and will win and send it back. You’ll lose time, emotional energy, and shipping fees.

Also there’s the possibility of buyer returning empty box or a rock. Best to avoid disgruntled buyers
