There are still 2 for English, the other was a french copy. I love how the French total pop is 3, and they are all 10âs: 2 gold, 1 black label.
For English, there are the same amount of Black Labels as BGS 9 copies. There are collectively more 10âs than 9.5âs. I have never seen these stats for any card.
Is the same person grading these Charizards? Am I trippinâ when I say, the odds of that happening are ridiculously non-existent; you got me fucked up.
I believe in Sports, there was a cutoff point where BGS became the new standard of grading. A lot of cards prior were graded by PSA, mainly the vintage, top end stuff.
I can see this happening with Pokemon if this is the print quality we can expect moving forward. I bought some Hidden Fates and the print quality is better than Japanese New Backs, which has never happened before this. The only issue is centering, which is shared by Japanese New Back cards as well.
With such high quality printing, we may see a shift to BGS grading for cards post-Hidden Fates (especially Charizards).
Hold on to your horses ladies and gentlemen, we might be going through a transitional period in the history of Pokemon card grading.
This BGS Charizard hype chase is the definition of an outlier. The PSA pop is low right now because everything gets a lovely one week delay. I have 2 regular orders from June, still processing. I think one has been on qa check 2 for a week now.
Also the 10k price for the Black Label is more than what most are willing to pay. PSA has the value range for all grades, which hits the majority of consumers.
@jakew1992 I think many in the hobby would agree that BGS10 > PSA10 in terms of earning power and gradability, even as a gold label, mainly with Charizards. I donât think any BGS 10 charizard has earned less than a PSA 10 charizard.
Iâm not sure if you have seen the quality of Hidden Fates cards but if you do, Iâm willing to bet that 90% of the chase cards are guaranteed PSA 10, with the only issue being centering. With that in mind, BGS 10 becomes the next chase card with Black Label being the ultimate chase card.
Yes, money is a great motivation in this world to do a lot of things. A lot of collectors also want the best of the best, in terms of owning the card or owning a grade. We saw the increase submissions of the HR ReshiZard to BGS and now the HF zard. If print quality keeps up, Iâm willing to bet that future chase Charizards will be submitted to BGS more often than not.
This used to be the case but since Beckettâs is trying to pump up some business to meet projections, anything goes now. Did you see what Scott posted above? Un friggen believable.
Can we talk about the blades cutting these cards? I like hidden fates and all but the cards look like they were cut with a chainsaw compared to the japanese cards. Just holding a stack of 100 cards of each you can feel the difference. One feels like sand paper and one feels like 4000 count egyptian cotton. Its almost like the japanese machines are equipped with samurai carbon steel blades folded 50k times while being forged and they got a guy standing there wiping the blade down after each and every cut like the sushi chefs. If pokemon ever does a 1st edition run for each set like some people have suggested, I personally think that its mandatory that it be JDM but in english. Amiright?
Selection bias. Not every raw pack pulled card card goes to BGS. Iâve seen some definite PSA 9/BGS 9 (or worse) raw cards. If/when I pull one I will certainly be sending to PSA if it is a weaker card and to BGS on the 'ol $50 2 day only if it has a good shot at the BGS 10 pristine and a glimmer of hope at a black label.
Indeed interesting on the price point of these. Even raw ones that seem to not be PSA 10 worthy have been earning $500+ on eBay and FB.
