I was looking at how beautiful some cards are where the background art is stunning and the pokemon is to the side or looking to the horizon

but Kusajima is certainly up there, too.
Beautiful! I always thought Mew was looking up to the sky until I got that card myself recently and checked the art more in detail.
Always a standout for me
This one and the onix are my favorites, when I first saw this card I immediately had to think of the sunset on the onix card. Even when both card feature competely different styles.
Easily one of the greatest illustrations of the entire TCG to me. Soooo dramatic and beautiful
I always wondered if this art was Golem in a cave looking out through a crack in the stone (as highlighted by the white light towards the bottom of the image).
I actually never thought of it that way…now that you mention it… I think that might be true. I always thought it was a very low sunset with dark clouds above it and the horizon below it.

Nighttime Horizon
Doduo/Dodrio has always been one of my more favorite Pokemon. It recently got its first full art in Fusion Strike. I’d love some sort of alt art for it one day…
