I have studied the going rate for these boxes for about a year, was wondering if anyone could paint a better picture of what the values have been like, say, on average for each of the last 5 years?
2005: A lot
2006: A lot
2007: A lot
2008: A lot
2009: A lot
2010: A LOT
2011: A WHOLE LOT
2012: A TON
2013: SERIOUSLY
2014: WHAT’S EVEN GOING ON?!

Wow $100 for a box? What!!
Yeah I was looking through the old pages of this section and the 1st Ed box prices made me cry. Though back then I probably wouldn’t have had the spare cash anyway but still!
I don’t think the base boxes were ever that cheap - IIRC they were around $150-175 per box around that time and the 1st ed ones were around 700

Not sure if anybody here remembers but I used to run auctions then where you’d buy the sealed base box for 100.00usd and guaranteed a Charizard. If you didn’t pull a Charizard I’d send you a free one. Out of 2-3 cases I think I sent out like 4 Charizards:)
