Authentication for 1999 1st Edition Base Set Booster Pack

Hey yall,

Looking for advice for experienced buyers. I bought this booster pack online and have gotten mixed responses on if it is fake or not. I see that it doesn’t have the long crimp that most packs do have from the 1st edition base set, BUT I have seen other packs sold online from the same set that have this type of crimp. I don’t see any cut lines or glue residue on the top and bottom crimps so I don’t think it’s been resealed.

The ebay photos are previous sold packs that match my crimp style. Any advice is helpful - thank you.

Fake unfortunately

AliExpress fakes

The crimp is the giveaway, definitely fake unfortunately

These are fakes. I have seen a huge increase in fake booster boxes and packs on eBay and other sites. They even put them in blister packs now. eBay makes it easier to report human body parts than all these fake listings, it’s disgusting they allow such obvious fakes to be sold daily.

The art is the wrong colors, but the biggest giveaway is the crimps on the pack. The real ones should have these long crimps with vertical lines, not the textured ones seen on most of the fakes.

There is a second version of 1st edition Base packs that are more common but look very similar, just slightly longer.

Fake blister

Thank you all for the honesty - filing for a return and hoping to get a refund.
