I was searching for information I’m having a dilemma over telling if these cards are real or fake everything passes the rip test light test the text everything and I was looking for some more opinions. I’ll upload pics also the only thing that seemed off to me was the coloring was maybe a bit lighter but the cards are very clean and I don’t have any near mint 1st edition base set only played unlimited. I deal with cards all the time but a shop nearby was saying that these were fake and that they feel lighter in weight and that the 1st edition stamp is too smooth?? I personally think they’re real I was honestly gonna send some into psa but lmk what you guys think!

Those don’t look right to me. That purplish colouring on the back, rather than the usual deep blue, is typical of fake cards. But it would be great to see other people’s opinions on here.

Agree with @decoypalmette about the Bill and energy looking more obviously weird (just look at the copyright info at the bottom—looks blurry and weird). The spacing of the energy in Weakness and in Retreat is off compared to the shadowless card, and the shading in the colorless energy symbols is off too. (Unless 1st edition had different format spacing compared to shadowless or something I’m not aware of?)

Even at first glance when you see unlimited edition dark and gold tinted gray on the trainer bill instead of the light neutral gray that is exclusively seen on shadowless cards you’ve got a fakey boy.
But even on closer scrutiny on my phone that’s some whack shiet mang.

Energy symbols are different, water energies have white in the border when the circumference should be all blue, they are larger (specially the retreat cost) and all lack more black halftone ink. And as stated above the weakness electric energy took a trip to the left. Plus purple backs are a no-no.
