I’m talking to some guy selling ex booster packs and he sent me these. They seem a bit off (mainly looking at the crimps - they seem unusually small) but I don’t own any ex booster packs so wanted to see what others thought. Real or fake? Thanks for input.

@azulryu,Thanks. What test do you generally use for on the back of these that fake ones seem to fail?

They do look off. The best way to tell is to open one.
Usually what I do when I don’t feel 100% and smhas saved me from reseals before
I don’t see anything to indicate a reseal. Everything else checks out from those pictures.

@fourthstartcg, the crimp looks very different than what i’ve seen on ebay and the placement of the text on the back is inconsistent with all other packs i saw. Other update, the seller had a sealed ex box with it that didn’t have the Pokemon logos on the plastic shrink wrap so I’m confident now these aren’t legit.
Crimp looks fine to me. It’s actually very difficult to fake packs, ones that are fake are usually very obviously so. The text is consistent with the EX Holon Phantoms packs I have. The main thing you would be worried about when purchasing loose packs is a reseal but the seal looks fine to me. Obviously you should not purchase anything you have misgivings about the authenticity though.

Agreed with @fourthstartcg, the crimp looks fine. Back/fronts look legit. I’m basing this off the empty Gyarados art pack I have which I opened myself. The crimps are shorter than your standard packs, so I can understand why they look off. I see no red flags on my end.

@azulryu, @fourthstartcg,hmm interesting. Either way the resealed booster box rubs me the wrong way so I doubt I’ll purchase. Thanks for your input.
I know this is an old post but wanted to link it to my post that pretty much indicates that these were more than likely fake Holon Phantoms. Doing so in case anyone encounters the same thing.
