The Billiken Pikachu had an RRP of $3,665 back in September last year - it’s odd that Heritage would publicise that fact. It’ll be interesting to see how the price has changed in only 8-9 months. The price of gold has gone up by 17% since then, so gold for gold it’d need to sell for around $4,300 to be profitable (assuming it’s the gold value which gave it its original RRP).

Since I was the owner of this, I don’t mind sharing that it sold for $21,600. Way more than expected.

I was tracking a lot of these lots, just to see if the HA market was going to become “more efficient”, but clearly it hasn’t lol… meaning there’s still at least a few solid waves of auctions that hit new ceilings for those of you who have great positions in this beautiful collecting world of Pokemon. (I can explain what I mean if anyone is interested).

The sold boxes paint an interesting picture to say the least lol… and clearly some of the PSA cards single slabs were picked up at “steals” which plays into the whole efficiency aspect I mentioned above…
