Hi guys.I’m starting to plan my trip for worlds 26(it’s never early enough).Do you have any advice for me?How long are you going to stay?I was thinking about spending a couple days in san francisco and 2 more in yosemite national park.

The people are the best part of worlds, come to the e4 meetup when it’s scheduled!

Come early and stay late if you can. Pokemon Center usually sells out of the really good stuff early on, so if you value getting exclusive merch at MSRP then you’ll want to go in Wednesday or Thursday. Worlds looks like it’s changing with the Pokemon XP event, but in the past there has been a ton of cool stuff to see and do in the venue even if you aren’t competing. This year they had a TCG museum, trade area, vendors, side events, not to mention watching the competition. Give yourself enough time to go through that on the competition days, but don’t linger too long.
The most fun to have is visiting with other fans as Will mentioned. Meet people, get food, swap stories, go off the beaten path. Visit cool landmarks in the city and don’t spend all your time on Pokemon. It’s great to add on some extra adventures, but make sure you aren’t missing out on anything you want to see/do during Worlds.

Advice below is not about the event but about the location:
There are a lot of interesting sights to see in the Bay of California! Depending on your itinerary, staying within San Francisco for the event would be ideal due to extended commutes within the area, especially during rush hour (applies to weekends as well). Definitely take some time to research where in San Francisco you would stay and visit…there are places you should intentionally avoid during the day but particularly during the evenings. As tempting as it is to find the cheapest option due to the higher costs, you want to avoid places like the Tenderloin district…

(In all seriousness, I think the map may be outdated since I don’t know how often the data is “cleaned” both figuratively and literally on the streets, but the fact that this even exists to begin with is wild to me). But having worked and lived in San Francisco, it is important to watch your step and watch what you touch with needles also being a legitimate concern when on the streets.
If you are planning on renting a car and staying in San Francisco, be absolutely certain that your bags and luggages are out of sight - there is organized crime for car thefts because of the amount of tourists and visitors who visit San Francisco throughout the year. Yosemite is one of the best national parks! Traffic heading east from San Francisco starts to become atrocious on weekdays at around 1:30 pm so keep that in mind if you are planning to travel east on weekdays.

Do people bring collection items to share at all? Binders, artist collections, etc? I imagine, if there are signings, those items would be something to carry with you.

Yes! I always love seeing what people have to bring and share.
Artist signings haven’t recently allowed cards to be signed. You’ll be provided with a poster or postcard or similar to have signed instead.

Would they sign a binder that clearly contains a collector’s dedicated collection in it? That’s what I WANT.

Muir Woods is a gorgeous place to visit - a little under 1 hr from SF! I have never Ubered there before - I think the bigger concern is finding an Uber back from Muir Woods since there would likely be less Uber drivers in that region. They do offer a shuttle service so you should research it - it’s a longer commute but you get to see even more sights in the process so it may be worth considering
