I just wanted to get other collectors thoughts or experience with making a request for a set to be added to the PSA Set Registry. I made a request for two (2) back in November 2024 (TCG-Company Sets), and my submission was confirmed, but it is almost a year now and I haven’t seen anything listed nor have I received an email confirming or denying my submission request. I know PSA was backlogged on these for a while and we couldn’t even make a request, but just curious other collectors experience with this process lately. Thanks in advance.
I just mentioned it in another thread that you asked but I just had a set take almost exactly a year to get added. Had kind of forgotten about it to be honest. The set registry is clearly not a priority for PSA anymore.
The set registry and the app was very ahead of it’s time but I’m referring to a time where PSA was still taking paper form submissions.
The set registry seemed to be a bigger priority before the new ownership. It has stayed relatively unchanged while other services from PSA has seen significant improvement. So I’d say it’s more of a before-thought than an after-thought
It’s a shame it’s no longer a priority, because now that I’m collecting non-Pokemon cards there is a lot more opportunity for grading and building mint sets. A lot of these other games while PSA grades them, don’t have any registry sets yet so I’ll echo the same sentiments above that it can take up to a year to have a new set recognized in the registry.
It was prioritized more in the past because it helped engagement. Now engagement is abundant, so it collects dust. Regardless its always been pretty niche. I agree though they should put more effort into it, I think it would get more traction today.
Thanks everyone for taking the time to give me your thoughts and any info on the current state of the registry. I hope one day it may become more of a priority, but I certainly wont hold my breathe.
