Seller had 2 24 pack boxes of 1st edition base set blister packs ( I only snagged 3 cause I’m poor ) sold them on average for 4-500 each, seller claims to have a 1st edition booster box left but he knows the value of it. Ebay member is Member24524521. Incase he has anything loose left or you want to try and buy anything else off him
What? he sold 1st edition base set blister packs for $500 a piece?? I find that EXTREMELY hard to believe… whats his eBay name?
This was discussed before…
I just saw what you are talking about. Im sorry but there is NO WAY that guy is legit. his photos don’t even match up with his listings at all. the guy seems to be all over the place. probably the same guy that hacked the reliable_clothing account last week lol
Not legit
Where?
I’ll let you guys know when it gets here in 1 day, gunna video tape opening it
What leads me to believe it is legitimate, he was being stingy over 100 dollars and would not sell more then what he had, I actually tried to get him to sell me two more and he said he couldn’t because another buyer had purchased his last 9. If he was scamming I feel he would take the money I was throwing at him
I think it was in
The Giant Auction Thread
I’m leaning towards it not being a scam. It is really in between. He used to sell a ton of MTG booster boxes 1+ years ago, has been a member for 20 years on ebay. He could have had an affiliation with WOTC, owned his own store back in the day or something of the sort. I have talked to him a fair amount and I don’t have much reason to believe that it’s a scam. The pictures included the first ed blisters, so how can his scam be successful?
Red flags on why I won’t touch these listings:
-
He never mentioned they were first edition in the titles or listing descriptions.
-
His main photo of the box didn’t say anything about them being first edition on the sticker.
-
Why does he have the photo of the first edition blister if the cases he has are sealed like he says?
-
He has several random photos of Pokemon cards that had nothing to do with his blister listing.
-
He acts like he doesn’t know what he’s doing in the blister auctions, but in another auction he specifically states and shows what is probably a shadowless booster (this requires much more research than knowing it’s first edition)
-
The first auction obviously ended at 10k because the buyer assumed it was a first edition blister case but there’s really no telling what you’ll get.
Fair. Definitely a tossup. Goodluck Tyler!
Just wait until tomorrow and we will all know for sure.
Post the video here please! Popcorn in hand for the epic opening moment!
I got my 3 blister packs today from this seller and I am happy to say they are 1st edition and legit! Congrats to all who managed to grab some!!!
Also, I took a video of the package opening but I’m not sure how to upload it here…
The seller obviously didn’t know or wasn’t aware they were 1st ed packs. He sold 48 qty at about $500 per. The po# on the box shown in his photos is the exact same as the sealed case of these that sold on Probstein Auctions a few weeks ago. Obviously that case is probably 1st edition as well. Again, congrats to everyone on the pick up!
Man you’ve gotten very lucky getting that mint Skyridge box and those blisters being legit count your lucky stars ha nice pickups
Good job!
Weird seller… he knows what a shadowless artwork looks like, but he doesn’t mention his blister packs are both Shadowless/1st Ed. It takes literally 10 seconds to search ebay and see they go for $1200-1500.
That means that box probstein sold was possibly 1st Edition too. What a steal to whoever bought it. That is probably why he thought the box is worth $10k so the packs $400-500. I probably should have taken a gamble. lol
I had a shot at 9 more he listed for me but when the listing went up, I didn’t think it was correct and by the time I figured it out, literally seconds, they sold…
